Because ogres use military tactics, magic, more advanced technology and greater numbers?

Vareg's spot on the council stood vacant, to be filled when Mar’gok deigned to. He would choose a replacement who presented no risk at all. The two hulking, neckless ogron—evolutionary steps between ogres and mud—who stood guard outside his halls were too dumb to disobey. It was refreshing.

I'm shocked how you forgot about that!

Anyway, besides Cho'gall, in the past all ogres had at least one head with hair in artwork. Even the first Two-headed Ogre model in WoW had hair on one of their heads.

Orb of Lightning

If we ever set foot on Draenor again and meet any of its Watchers, two of them should be based on Fujin and Raijin, despite the ogres we've met being Roman and not Japanese.

So how do we feel about Chronicle 2 changing Gruul a bit so he took over the ogres after Highmaul's fall, as opposed to always ruling some like RotH had it? Expected? Disappointment? Approval?

As for me I do like what WoD turned the ogres into quite a lot, but I feel like it kind of downplays how big and badass Gruul was, that he had to pick up the empire's pieces.

Eh, expected, though I suppose some folks can figure they always had some ogre servants just probably not full clans worth.

Alpha-Gruul still had a kinder fate than alternate-Gruul who was enslaved and crippled by the Iron Horde.

The AU gronn treatment was kinda confusing overall, since they couldn't seem to decide whether the Iron Horde had successfully enslaved the gronn or not. According to Gruul's Dungeon Journal entry, having him and most of his sons in chains brought the rest of the gronn to heel, but then half of Gorgrond's plot is about the Blackrocks struggling mightily and mostly failing hard to enslave the gronn, leading to their seeking out of the artifact to control a magnaron.

Hell, the Thunderlords seemed to be having better luck consistently capturing and enslaving large numbers of gronn in Frostfire Ridge than the Blackrocks were managing in Gorgrond. In retrospect enslaving Gruul and his sons on AU Draenor didn't really seem to accomplish very much, as with the magnaron still around they didn't appear to have any real control over the other gronn anyway.

I'm hoping that, after reading Chronicle myself, Gorgrond will be more enjoyable on alts.

You spelled Shadowmoon wrong.

But WoD did have good questing. It's problems mostly came after that.

Too much night for a WoD zone. Just right for a night elf zone.

You're right about the questing, though. The best questing experience pre-Legion, imo. Too bad that the max level content sucked.

Agreed on the questing. WoD's issues were far greater and can't be summed up with just "Story was shit." but we've beaten that dead horse in other threads so I won't do it again.

Overall I think Talador just edges it as my favourite zone, largely because of how amazing the Draenei buildings and art assets are.

If we're talking questing I think Frostfire (So Horde only) is solid, though the lack of Bladespire as a proper city at the end of that quest chain does hurt the overall experience.
