At least in the new canon, you don't have to see the big 3 still saving the galaxy in their 70s.

Star Wars has tons of moral grey area. Its a nightmare dystopia.

Corporations hold all the power, Labor power is non existent, every galactic government from the Republic to the Empire is corrupt and completely incapable at governing, All power is based on wealth, wealth inequality is fucking massive and crushing even though there are literally millions of planets to get every resource you could ever want on, Slavery exists almost everywhere and is completely unchallenged, technological progress is stagnant for tens of thousands of years at a time, and to top it all off every hundred years or so a monastic order of warrior monks splinters and fights wars on a galactic scale that kill billions of people and destroy entire worlds.
^

I want this "Star Wars is generic goodies VS baddies for children." meme to end. Just because Lucas is a talentless hack doesn't mean the entire setting is garbage.

This video has me convinced that Rey is Obi-Wan's granddaughter.

I'm very hype now.

You guys who like Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis might enjoy this screenshot-based LP of a game called Star Wars: Rebellion.

It starts immediately after Battle of Yavin and goes through the rest of the war, with a lot of economy and politics. Hero characters from the films and old EU show up.

Obi-Wan standalone movie has been confirmed to be in the works.

I'll be far more excited for this than the Han movie or any of the sequel trilogy if McGregor signs on. They'd be fucking retarded not to offer to him as he's considered by many to be the best part of the prequels and he's repeatedly said he'd love to do an Obi-Wan movie, but you never know with these people.

Episode II: AotC is much more watchable if you skip any scene without Obi-Wan.

New trailer for the final series of Rebels!

Looks like lightwhips are canon again. I could have gone without that one...

Looks more like some kind of normal, but glowy, whip, instead of an actual light-weapon.

My 2013 trailer actually predicted everything, Mothma, Thrawn, Mandalore, Ahsoka, Tarkin and Maul.

In episode 7 Kylo Ren mentions that Hux should maybe have used a clone army instead. Does the First Order already have a clone army? Is it the same Jango Fett clones? Why'd they stop using a clone army?

Orb of Lightning

I got the sense that Luke thinks that it's a really bad thing Rey's even more powerful than the last idiot.

At this point after seeing Vader, almost himself, and now Kylo Ren succumb to the Dark Side he may be convinced that being so incredibly powerful and trying to harness it is just plain inherently prone to lead to very bad things.

Force-wielders are dangers to themselves and others.

The Dark Side is quicker, easier and more seductive.

Wait, is the power he saw before that didn't scare him supposed to have been from Kylo Ren?

Rogue One and Rebels (and a lack of Abrams) made me give Episode 8 a little more goodwill than 7. So naturally i'm inclined to like this trailer more than that of The Force Retcons, but even so i'm massively conflicted - on the one hand the technology is fairly good looking (even though the CGI is a little iffy imo) and the AT-AT-style walkers next to the big ones made me squee the first time i saw them On the other hand: Luke is my favorite character from the movies (which, admittedly, i don't usually like all that much) so seeing him in the trailers should excite me. And yet it doesn't. I just can't bring myself to give a shit about Snooky and seeing how apparently the force-side of the movie will be mostly centered around him... I wanted to see Luke's New Jedi Order, i DON'T want to see Luke's Treecave Of Loneliness.
Also fuck the editors for that obviously fake Kylo/Rey scene at the end. I hate it when they do that. Well. Usually i hate it.

All plagiarisation aside i'm looking forward to the Battle of Hoth 2.0. I just hope it's not over in two heartbeats.
