Do you think he went and shat on FDR's grave immediately after, or do you think he decided to only do so metaphorically?

I like this one much better, though:

All I could think of during Trump's bullshit speech.

And that's why you 'muricans still can't get a proper healthcare system done.

With large portions of the population unable to afford treatments, that doesn't mean much.

Socialism is like a virus fueled by human envy and greed. It subverts a system that encourages people to invest in themselves so they can better help other people by actually helping them for one that rewards people that can manipulate others. There is still an aristocracy associated with centralized planning but it is based off of government employment and favoritism. Your ability to get ahead is your ability to support this organization in exchange for favors. The overall economy will not grow as optimally and your society will be poorer especially in the long term.

Maybe but that's not the point.

The point is that not everyone can afford treatment and that's because in order to have everyone be able to afford healthcare, you kinda need to think socialist.
But since you guys have such raging hate-boners for everything socialist, you'll never get what other countries in the western world have had for decades.

Hell, Germany has had an inherently socialist healthcare system for about 100 years now (ironically introduced by a very conservative Otto Bismarck). It survived two world wars and two global economic crisises and it works.
But no, someone said the evil word of evil so it must be the work of the devil.

How about you guys stop seeing the world in black and white and get a bit more chill about socialist ideas?
Sure, too much of it will kill you (too much of anything will, according to Paracelsus) but in the right doses it can help people.

We don't have to do it to the extent or the same way as other countries have.

The US does have government healthcare for retirees and the impoverished. Many states also offer their own health care services that expand upon them. There are also things like the VA. We also have things that encourage businesses to offer health insurance to their employees. A lot of these government run problems have issues. The US healthcare system isn't pure anything. Lawyers also lobby to get big pay outs from malpractice litigation that isn't entirely conducive to better care as much as it is to get them more money. A lot of these factors interact poorly.

The US is responsible for most of the medical innovation in the world and that saves countless lives and that is thanks the more open ended nature of our system. Accessibility is an issue and there are problems caused by the assortment of patchwork solutions but the quality of the care and research is fantastic.

We have limited healthcare for certain people. The fact is that most people will be bankrupted or at least lose all of their savings if they ever get cancer.
It seems that we have decided that living your twilight years surviving off of cat food is better than that evil S word, though.

The temptation of evil is always what you get in return for your soul.

I don't consider 145 Euros per month worth a soul, personally. And I do get good and affordable healthcare out of it.

Of course not. You are German. The going rate for a soul over there is like, 10 Euros a month, tops.

To be fair 10 € will get you two pints of beer, which is a pretty good deal.

"...on average nationwide, a 60-year-old making $25,000 per year would have to pay as much as $16,174 more per year for health insurance.
A 60-year-old making $25,000 per year in Alaska would have to pay as much as $31,790 more per year, and in Arizona, the person would have to pay $22,074 more, according to the AARP study."

Stop trying to kill old people, righties! I'm hearing that these disgusting bottom feeders are even starting to get some elderly people to turn against the AARP because of their impartial analysis of issues affecting their membership.
Conservatism is a disease.

I love this so much! I want to see Afghanistan become a prosperous and developed nation. I would be so upset if all the work put into it was in vain because of politicians that never believe in it. Afghan President Ghani is an affected party in this situation and has no stake in our politics so you know when he says how much better the Trump administration is than the Obama one you know it is true.

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you you listen to real experts(generals) instead of random assholes back at home that should never been in charge of anything.

Yeah, if we had done that in the 50s, we wouldn't have the North Korea problem we have now.
Mostly because there wouldn't be any Korea left due to nuclear holocaust.

Trump claims Chinese banks won't do business with North Korea

Will be really good if true.

I wonder how much better our society would be if we removed all of our fake experts who had never had to operate in an environment where being wrong meant failure. Decisions should be made by people who understand what the consequences of those decisions are and have some degree of investment. Being able to tell other people what to do isn't just some privilege to make a disconnected elite feel good about themselves. There is a real moral hazard when so many defense and economic decisions are made by people who never operated in either nor feel the consequence of any sort their mismanagement. It is the worst kind of aristocracy.
