Default [Article] StarCraft: Ghost: What went wrong

So, came across this article on polygon which I found interesting:
https://www.polygon.com/2016/7/5/118...hat-went-wrong

Basically, some insight from various developers who were involved with this project and what problems arose during the development.

Seems to be debate on whether the smaller studio couldn't handle it or whether blizzard started asking for too much and was being inconsistent. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Eh, I'd say, part of the problem is that Blizzard wasn't as involved as they are used to, combined with the idea for the game not coming from Blizzard, but from Nihilistic, and as such they didn't have a clear vision for the game.

Blizzard at that point was likely used to experiment freely with ideas, but as the project was basically outsourced, this approach was more of a hindrance. And it got only worse since Blizzard devs got inspired by things they saw in releases of other developers, while Nihilistic had to take care of it.

I'd say it's a classic case of too many cooks. Things might have worked out differently if Nihilistic was more of an inhouse team for Blizzard, so Blizzard developers would have been more involved and get a better idea where things should go, instead of getting an update from time to time.
