In German the stones are called Ruhestein (Reststone), so there's no nice connection there. I quite liked thinking of the stones as heartstones taking you to the place were your heart laid, your favorite place on azeroth. Funny thing is, sometimes I knew it said hearth and then I'd forget it and think of them as heartstones again.

This game is missing just one thing.

And that's motorcycles.

Home is where your hearth is.

Also did you guys notice how the starter heroes are 4 Horde, 4 Alliance, and that BE sidekick of Varian's who kinda straddles the middle between the factions. Poor Blizzard, traumatized by bias criers has to balance everything to be perfectly equal.

Anyway Cemotucu asked if there will be more heroes other than those few we were shown initially. I think yes because I saw a gnoll hero in the demo vid.
I think it's Uther. His name is plastered under the character line.

Come on, Blizzard. Give me a Rommath mage hero card...

This actually looks really cool. I don't touch CCGs in meatspace, but a reasonably-priced virtual version appeals to me a great deal. I'll definitely give it a shot when it becomes available.

Hmm, looking through the FAQ section it says that when buying booster packs you have a chance of finding a normal card upgraded to "Gold" status within it. And there is no method mentioned in which a normal player can gain the same bonus.

Now given this is a FTP model, I am very wary of this. I don't want to be an alarmist since we don't even know what Gold status means but I would be majorly turned off the game if buying cards put you in an inherently, and more importantly, unreachably better position then a normal player.

I'm going to assume that gold means "shiny," and the only measure by which paying players will outdo the FTP folks is fabulousness.

Ah, a cheap & easy-to-produce piece of shovelware that Blizz can use to exploit to f2p market. Wonderful.

God forbid Blizzard try something different with a franchise for a change that's not an RTS sequel to an RTS game or a hack&slash sequel to a hack&slash game.

All I know is the game looks fun and it's something I can play for 30 minutes a day when I'm bored without having to pay for it.

Problem?

Got to play it at PAX an hour or so ago. As someone without any prior exposure to the TCG, I found it really fun! Won a Druid vs. Druid mirror match.

It's also very likely that they're saving both the Monk and the Death Knight classes for future expansion of Hearthstone.

Yes, and it's not like it's holding up a wow expansion either. This could be the first step into expanding the warcraft franchise outside of the single game. Here's hoping for a single player rpg sometime soon.

Hearthstone Uther has the same character design as All-Star Uther.

Blizzard should have outsourced a spectacle fighter to platinum.
