Take away your hyperbole, and that's the Catholic sacrament of reconciliation/confession.

Take away the religious trappings, and it's people falling short of the way they believe they should act. I think everyone's disappointed himself, from time to time.

Nah, Catholics have to check with a church official and, if deemed forgivable, perform the rituals prescribed by said church official. Protestants apparently can just do it on their own and the ritual just seems to be an apology.

There's not as much of a reason to since tithes aren't really a thing anymore, but it seems they do still have to approve.

We're still encouraged to tithe. You're likely thinking of paying for indulgences, which have to do with getting out of purgatory faster and not so much escaping hell or getting your confession approved.

A Christian pastor in Arizona, one of the champion of gay rights according to Genesis, wants to execute all the gays by Christmas.
"Turn to Leviticus 20:13, because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant."

Yeah... a lot of those types need to add a little New Testament to their Old, and stir well.

EDIT: Oh shucks, that's Steve Anderson? He's minorly Youtube famous. I've had a little back-and-forth with him, but not much. (He doesn't believe in any sort of universal/united church, which weirds me. That's akin to saying you don't even want my local church to believe the same things as your local church. So what are you trying to convince me of, eh?)

A bit crazed. Strangely, he was big on hating police officers and border patrol - he basically trolled them when pulled over - long before police hating was in the news.

If you think that I said anything remotely close to that, then you are a dumber shit than I originally thought. Read and comprehend, but stop spewing bullshit.

Good news! The unconstitutional part of the new tax bill that would allow churches to act as PACs has been removed!

You won't have your victory until churches lose their tax exempt status.

Because there never has been and never can be a reality in which churches (or Planned Parenthood, etc.) don't hold political opinions.

Is that webpage specifically designed for the elderly, or is my browser broken? Because goddamn, those texts and images are ridicolously huge.

edit: I can confirm that the browser on my work computer is broken.

A "religion of love" university in AL has banned an LGBT group in order to keep a $3m donation from a baptist group.

Why do we still let a death cult run schools in this country?

Reminder that these are the kinds of things that people supporting the "freedom of religion in healthcare" want to see more of:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Eads
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyra_Hunter
https://bklyner.com/ems-denied-trans...heepshead-bay/
http://www.thetaskforce.org/static_h..._on_health.pdf
https://scholarworks.iu.edu/journals...le/19665/25749

And in other legal religious news, a judge in Texas interrupted a jury to declare a defendant not guilty because he believed his god told him to.

My arguments are just too sound. The right-wing religious nutters can't even make an argument.

To protest Hammerbrew being banned for reasons elaborated on multiple times by various mods, yet was somehow a case of 'liberal bias'.
