The values. I'm not sure about the method.

So is MSNBC, so is Fox News. I don't have enough experience with BBC, but I'm sure it's got a bias going, too.

Even newspapers that used to have a valued reputation are now tarnishing themselves. Wa Po is more distrustful than the Chicago Tribune. The NY Times cares more about subscriptions than they care about reporting the truth. The LA Times and the Boston Globe are the same as they've always been (with the Globe getting greedier with their subscription costs), and The New Yorker... well, it's The New Yorker.

Online news sites are even worse. There's a reason Yahoo News is the butt of journalist jokes.

Who is the least bit surprised that a CNN producer would think American voters are stupid for not agreeing with them. How qualified is CNN to dictate American policy and how much do they care about the country when they talk about it with such derision?

I'm not going to watch the video, but I mean, yeah, American voters are pretty stupid.

Are you suggesting there's a correlation between power/wealth and intelligence?

Just remember to take Veritas with a grain of salt. They arent actively worse than places like CNN, in that they tell a narrative over fair and factual news...... But they arent better either

Tax evasion.

But in all seriousness, when people are grouped together, they tend not to think for themselves. It's how we get mob mentality and sheepthink. The smaller the group, the more people think for themselves instead of just following the loudest voice in the room.

When it comes to knowing what they want, people in general are pretty clueless. Not only of a lack of knowing how to read between the lines and filter out the BS, but also because people don't want to do a lot of things that need to be done. They don't want to do the legwork when it comes to something that benefits someone other than themselves (and there are those who don't even want to do work for themselves and would rather live off of the government, but this isn't the thread for that).

The guy who runs it has been taken to court over his completely fabricated storylines. Project Veritas is the very definition of Fake News.
https://theintercept.com/2017/06/01/...ollar-lawsuit/

Sinclair Broadcast group is another major contender for a major Fake News outlet, making Fox News look almost radically liberal in comparison.

Positive influence: equality, innovation, creativity, immigrants, openness, hard work, unions, industry, ample natural resources, bipartisanship, cooperation

Negative influences: built on the backs of slaves, late colonialism/imperialism, not being attached to europe so our infrastructure never got wrecked in ww1 or 2, lots of shady cold war manipulation of foreign governments, destruction of natural resources

I don't think they are better. It isn't like CNN denied those videos.

I do like though how someone is keeping the big media giants in check though. Maybe one day Project Veritas can become too big and then we can infiltrate them.

O'Keefe selectively edits every Veritas video just the same way they do on Reality TV. Everything he does is taken out of context to portray a made up story he decides on (or at least he's paid to make anyway). He's yellow journalism taken to the nth degree. The very definition of a propagandist. He's worse, objectively. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like CNN.

What is the context on the videos then? Where the guy says "The American people are stupid as shit," or "the Russia thing is just for ratings?"

That's the point, no one knows, he selectively edits so much that he could be talking about how the government sees it, how other media sees it, how he sees it, or god knows what else. There is no truth to be found in a source that scrambles up reality and serves it back to us with only an agenda in mind.

I'm not telling you not to watch Fox or read Bloomberg, I'm advising you to run far away from propagandist news like Veritas. Or, god forbid, something as utterly stupid as InfoWars and Alternet.

Infowars said there were 'child sex slaves' in a secret colony on mars, if anyone believes anything they say, there's not much helping them

Well CNN just said that was his personal opinion and they weren't going to disavow it or offer a correction to it. They could have offered some context there. As Anansi has shown it isn't exactly an opinion no one has heard before about American voters being stupid. One of the economists that helped with the PPACA thought the same thing. That contemptuous attitude from people in these kind of places is something a lot of people have come to expect.

I don't watch Fox and Bloomberg is sometimes interesting. I just saw these videos linked. You can always look at the big picture here and analyze things from multiple angles. I am not going to defend Veritas. Just commenting on the video or the ethics or motivations behind big journalists like CNN.

Mostly by being basically the only developed nation to not get destroyed during WWII.

[edit] Apparently Fox News thinks Mississippi, Arizona, Utah, Virgina and many other deep red states are actually blue states?

[edit 2] And now Fox is publishing articles by mystery authors and naming vague anonymous sources.

"The source, described as 'familiar with the matter,'"
Familiar with the matter.

A right-wing fake news facebook page (made to troll lefties) apparently tricked a bunch of rightists into protesting a nonexistent Confederate-grave-desecrating Antifa event. Fox, Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, and other right-wing rags picked up the story of the grave desecration plans and ran with it. One of the rightist protesters then proceeded to accidentally shoot himself.

CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.
CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.
CNN has actively threatened to doxx a private citizen if he posts stuff they dont like.
