Default Wonder Woman Movie

A good old good guys(British) versus bad guys (Germans) movie.

When the British point at someone and tell me they are the bad guys I tend to lend my awesome power to help destroy them

Bolvar makes a thread literally every time he sees a superhero movie even though there are the threads you listed and one already dedicated to the movie itself. I think this forum can handle a thread just discussing the Wonder Woman movie...

Concerning the movie.. It was AMAZING. The Amazons' fighting styles were cool to see and some of those women were JACKED. I just wish there were more scenes with them. And Gal Gadot stole my breath away with her acting and beauty.

The only part I didn't like was Ares having the same actor during the scene we saw him bleeding out. It was jarring to see that mustache. Were there no muscular Grecian men available at the same to take on the role?

Everything else was perfect. I've always said that if they make a Wonder Woman they should adapt the 2007 animated movie into a live action one word for word, but this is more than acceptable.

You might not like it, but this is what Wonder Woman perfection looks like.

Linda is superior.

So is it actually good or are we looking at a Ghostbusters reboot situation again?

The trailers made it look 'okay' but nothing spectacular so I want to get some opinions first before being pressganged into seeing this over something else.

Reviews so far are very good.

Even James Rolfe, who refused to watch to Ghostbusters Movie, apparently liked it.

I've heard good reviews about it. People have said it's kinda Marvel formula so I figure it'll be entertaining but nothing special. Then again I've never been a huge fan of Marvel movies (my favourites being Iron Man and the Winter Soldier).

Se├▒or Bolivar also writes about half a novel worth of a review in his first post.

The same could be said of most if not all comic book movies. What's your point?

That this one actually has my interest due to the WW1 setting and potential of "typical wants-to-do-good superhero(ine) fights in a glorious war that is actually horrific and contrasts her super clean aesthetic."

I haven't seen Ghostbusters but it doesn't have any man hating moments in it. Diana is actually intrigued by men having grown up in an all woman society. Chris Pine's character actually does stuff and is a heroic character and part of Diana's character development.

The fact that the setting is WWI does play a part in the story.

So what are her motivations to fight against Germany? This is a genuine question, by the way. She is a Greek demi-goddess, isn't she? Why would she pick a side and get involved in an human conflict? If it were WWII I would understand, but it isn't...

Chris Pine lands on the island first and points at them says they are the bad guys as they follow him. The Germans and the amazons start fighting. Diana believes one of the German Generals is the God of War that has corrupted the heart of the Germans and made them fight so she goes after him.

Diana didn't have any contact with the outside world before that but wanted to go save the world from Ares the God of War.

To add to this, they use the lasso on Steve who reveals that one of the German scientists is developing a poison deadlier than mustard gas and calls WWI "the war to end all wars" and that's why Diana believes Ares is influencing the Germans and wants to free them to end the war.

That potential's met in my opinion for whatever that's worth to you.

Kinda surprising that in the end, it's the Brit who is the true evil of the movie.

Makes me wonder why they decided to turn Areas into Satan. And really sad that all of the gods are dead. Having them stick around is the most enjoyable part of the current WW mythos.

One thing I wonder if they are forshadowing is that Dr. Poison is one of the creators, or inspirations for Venom.

The Brit that was pushing for an armistice no less.
