Pick up "Surviving Australia".
Flip through "Surviving Australia" and look for illustrations.
The book consists only of a single sentence repeated over and over. There are no illustrations.

If there are no illustrations, destroy the book completely.
You use all the strength in your body to try and rip the book asunder...

The book fails to budge. Even when trying to rip only a single page, you are unable to tear the material.

Use sandal slippers.

You pull the painting of the puppy...
It's come off the wall. It left behind a nail stuck in the wall.

nothing happens.

Do all those things the Baron suggested, but don't forget to break off a leg from the chair, granting a [Makeshift Nightstick] on your way out.
You break off a leg from the chair, granting a makeshift nightstick.

Walk outside.
Use Sense Darkness on stone tower. I want to verify that it's dark and stuff.
You take your time to wander over to the stone tower you earlier spotted in the distance...

...

It is a simple structure. You've been thinking of it as a tower, but it's pretty small for such an appelation. It has a square base, each side 3 meters in length. It is about twice as tall as it is high. The tower appears to have some kind of battlements. It possesses a thick-looking metal door, which is currently closed. The walls are made out of very smooth stone.

...

Your powers reveal to you that the inside of the tower is well-lit. You can see the outline of the building because of the contrast between the darkness within the material and the bright light. There is only a single room within the tower. There is a hatch in that room's ceiling, leading to the tower's roof. This hatch is what is letting through light. The tower's roof is surrounded by a wall possessing the aforementioned battlements. There appears to be some kind of sizeable object stuck against the wall within the tower, though the granularity on your sensing of darkness is too low to make out what exactly it is.

Try opening the door.

If locked, return to cabin and fetch that nail in the wall that was foolishly left behind. Surely it'll make an alright lockpick.

Go back to the tower. Fiddle with the lock using the nail.

And try to remember what that one sentence was in the Australia book, without looking at it again.

The door is thoroughly sealed, and you fail to move it an inch no matter what level of force you excert.

You recover the nail and use it to fiddle with the lock. The lock does not appear to be conventional in its design, as there don't seem to be any moving parts for you to get a grip on with your nail. During you fiddling, you lock inside the lock. The inside appears to be made of smooth glass, with three small lights at the far end: One red, one blue, one green.

You remember the sentence as something akin to "A thousand have fallen. There is no survival".

Gently shadowbreathe-whisper "open sesame" in red, blue, and green into the lock.

A sparse cloud of shadowy fog emanates from your mouth, entering into the lock.

The inside of the lock is now darker.

The wind will carry the fog away over time, clearing it over the course of a few minutes.

We're going on the roof to get through that hatch. Consider the feasibility of scaling this structure, possibly by lugging the flipped table over here and/or tying the cloth to the nightstick for a grappling hook.

While doing so, question the nature of reality and your sanity. You once remembered the Surviving Australia book as repeating a single sentence; now you remember it as two sentences.

Refuse to look at the book again to resolve the issue. We're too busy right now.
