Default BlizzCon 2015

November 6th and 7th. Wonder what this means about expansion droughts and such?

Hopefully we can get formally addressed on the topic, I have a feeling that Blizzard has gone decadent with content especially during the waning days of expansions such as MoP. I know Wowcrendor made a video expressing his take on how to tackle the content droughts that Blizzard could take some notes on.. With the new HD Warcraft 3 models going into SC2, I wonder if Blizzard is willing to make a overhaul HD version of said past Warcraft games along with the campaigns ect and even SC/Diablo games. At-least if they announce such at Blizzcon, I might be sold.

They're definitely going to announce the new WoW expansion then. Queen Azshara and friends?!

Is it the sixth expansion or the South expansion? Think about it.

They were planning another expansion but it was cut in order to allow the playerbase to enjoy the existing content for longer.

One dead project (Titan), one comatose and on life support (Diablo), one moving forward only because it has an expansion (SC), and one that's kept alive by virtue of addition (WoW). They're hurting for sure, but Hearthstone is actually a success, Heroes of the Storm hasn't been shot down yet (and likely won't if they can put out some maps that encourage solo queuing), and Overwatch can always generate hype.

Granted, a giant can't turn on a dime, but Q4 may give them some much needed energy if they can keep releasing bits and pieces of good news streaming out.

There wont be good news as long as edgelords of poorly allocated resources is still a thing. WoW is their most successful game and will always be the benchmark. Hearthstone is a success for now but it is one shitty decision away from going to cataclysm territory.

If WoD was worth talking about, there would be more people in the Warcraft forums on a more regular basis, but a lot of talk has died down as of late.

It seems clear that Blizzard's foreseeable future lies more with smaller-scale games like Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch than with their previous larger production games.

As you say, the Titanic has sunk. The gaming world of D3 is not the pre-MMO world that allowed D2 to flourish, and despite initially strong sales and critical reviews, it's a flop in terms of its sustaining power and memorability. And people are just waiting for SC2 to finally be done, but it cannot live up to the success of SC1 or Brood War. Why? Because a fan-project spin-off from a Blizzard RTS created a new genre of game that has coincidentally undermined Blizzard's RTS competitive gaming scene, which they are now years behind in trying to play catch up.

Unfortunately it does make sense, even WoW feels like a smaller scale now.

I'd say it's less the Titanic sinking than the Hindenburg going down in flames. After the Titanic sank people still rode transatlantic cruise ships. Zeppelins were dead after the Hindenburg.

So based upon your understanding of the Titan project, it was more of a zeppelin project?

A Bit o’ Good Goody Bag News
If you can’t make it to the show in person, this year there’ll be a whole new way to bring a piece of the BlizzCon experience home: For the first time ever, Virtual Ticket buyers will have the option to purchase a BlizzCon Goody Bag of their own. Supplies will be limited, and some regional restrictions will apply—we’ll share additional information closer to the Virtual Ticket’s launch, so keep an eye on BlizzCon.com in the months ahead.

intresting.

I like that - less people to swarm the ticket sales Last year was crazy crowded. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would just be content with the stream and goody bag.

Titan was supposed to be an MMO. I sincerely think that the MMO market is dead or at least going to be very niche for the very near future.
