And is a bad ass himself. Cyndaquil is cute, Quilava is cool, and Typhlosion is bad ass.

The name Tyranitar also oozes badassery, and Feraligatr isn't far behind. What the hell, Nintendo of America, why can't you give us more badass names? Why do Gen 5 Pokemon have weird names like Sawk, Klunk and Gurdurr? Hur durr...

Still 10. No surprise there, seeing as the Pokemon anime is nothing but a marketing tool for Nintendo to sell their games.

Or maybe that theory with Ash being in a coma is actually true.

I think he's 13 actually. They do progress age slowly. Just wish he'd either win or retire by now.

Some people theorized that, by the Johto season, Ash would've been 11 since in the 3rd movie Ash's mother mentions that, at that moment, it was the day that Ash met Pikachu, thus implying that a full year has passed since the first episode. However, 3 seasons later in Sinnoh, Professor Rowan tells Ash that Dawn (who had just turned 10 and is on her way to becoming a Pokemon master), is about his age, debunking the theory that Ash ages 1 year when he travels to another region.

And so as long as Game Freak keep releasing Pokemon games, Ash will never age since it makes their target audience, snot-nosed 10 year olds, identify with the main character in the series and beg their parents to buy them their Pokemon games.

It was my understanding that Ash was older in the original and they made him a good bit younger for the dub.

He(The name is actually Red) was a lot more mature in the manga, also a much more skilled trainer.

I don't know if you know, but the anime is not based on the manga. The manga actually came after the anime, and is Satoshi Tajiri's own interpretation of the Pokemon world after he was dissatisfied with the anime.

Satoshi thought that, just as Pokemon were used for good (don't ask me what "good" in the Pokemon world is, since catching creatures and making them battle each other weren't bad enough), like guns and firearms, they could also be used for evil and for murder. Hence, that's why the manga has far more violence than the anime which, again, is tailored towards 10-year-old kids who would by the games.

Both the manga and the anime were based on the game, the manga's plot is closer to the game. There is the character Red in RGB first, then Ash came out in the anime. Yellow was based on the anime.

Yes, they were both based on the game, but the anime came first and then the manga did. The anime's main character, called Satoshi in the original Japanese version (named after Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri) is loosely based on Red in the games. But Satoshi himself wasn't satisfied with the anime's interpretation of the games, so a Pokemon manga, based on the game AND on how Satoshi envisioned the Pokemon world would be like, was made.

He’s an immortal demon prince who feeds on the souls of virgins to maintain his youthful human appearance. That’s what the internet says, anyway.

The mysteries of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y continue to grow with the unveiling of a Pokémon that is strangely familiar! It looks a lot like the powerful Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, but not quite the same…

It is suspected that the newly discovered Pokémon has some sort of connection with the Legendary Mewtwo—a powerful Pokémon that first appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue Versions.

Mewtwo was created by engineering the genes of another powerful Pokémon, the Mythical Mew. The aim was to create a Pokémon that would be mightier in battle than any other!

Now, a newly discovered Pokémon appears in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y—a Pokémon that bears a curious resemblance to the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo!
