Do you feel there are more who approve or just that they're louder or what?

Eh, thats always been a myth

https://hbr.org/2008/06/trophies-for-everyone-debunkin

Itwas boomer parents thay demanded their kids have trophies

Speaking as someone who ironically got a "most christlike" trophy in youth basketball and a bunch of other trophies for soccer and every other sport my family signed me up for before it became clear I wouldn't magically start to love sports, Ive got nothing* but contempt for the hunks of junk, and an inability to feel praise is sincere

*the tae kwon do certificate not so much since that one was just a measure of doing the forms right and only people in the actual tournaments got trophies, which I think is a nice middleground

I love the sort of clubs who hand out trophies for attending and shit like that. It's sort of like the videogames who hand out achievements for you booting the game or completing the tutorial.

Outside of what your parents can control childhood was a pretty poor preparation for adulthood. Public schools are pretty meh. A lot of people grew up to a real rude awakening.

I intend to get my kids a part time job as soon as I can because you learn about budgeting and dealing with people in a way school never teaches you It will either be motivation for college or an alternate path they can take.
