I liked the little bit in ToW where Jaina felt uncomfortable when Pained grinned, being unsettled by her predatory nature. Etc. I think more instances of that rather than "MUH WARRUR WIMIN MATRIARCHY IS INFALLIBLE" would be better overall as it pretty much cements the fact that they're dangerous and can unnerve the other races from time to time. Then again, i'm more of a fan of small subtleties like that.

Eh- it probably was but like Yak said "they all look the same". That and for some reason Pained is stuck in my head along with Crawling by Linken Park.

Night Elf Icon (War3)

Only two pages? Damn, even gnomes got more...

Let's fix that!

I think that one of the main issues with night elves is that, over the years, all the other races that were in the RTS got abilities, talents, glyphs and/or gear that allow players to turn their characters into the Warcraft III units. Night elves? They only got druids and archers. Sure, you could say that hunters could stand in for Priestesses of Elune and rogues for Wardens and Demon Hunters, but those are really poor consolation prizes. Rogues have fan of knives, and that's it for iconic abilities. Talents, glyphs and armour are nowhere to be found, and neither Wardens nor Demon Hunters get iconic weapons.

It's time for Blizzard to throw all those poor devil who still try to RP nelf units a bone. Give hunters more mystical abilities, add some transmogrification armour for night elves, add glaives that aren't legendary, add glyphs with a night elven feel (like one that turns your ghoul into an Avatar of Vengeance), etc.

Feral night elves are better than hippy, druidistic night elves. Imperial Night elves are the best night elves.
Night elves > Blood elves.

Night elves > Blood elves.
I second the notion; Grom, of all people, called them savage in Reign of Chaos.

Well I'll deconstruct them once I play their missions in WCIII.

I kinda want to play Warcraft III again too. Mostly the night elven missions because it's that time of the year again.

Tyrande looked so much better in WC3.

I like Furion in the cover of WotA.

My favorite Illidan is from the TFT cinematic. No glowing eyes please!

The Night Elves were doomed as soon as it was confirmed that WoW would have a Cold Warlike setting with the Alliance against the Horde as the only playable factions. They were too strong and disconnected from the Eastern Kingdoms in WC3 to fit in an Alliance domineered by Stormwind. And yet being one of the 4 playable factions in WC3 made it so that they couldn't be NPCs.

Even then, having the Night Elves in the Alliance could have worked if Metzen and Co. did a better job showing the Alliance is actually an alliance.

The undead were NPCs. (The Forsaken doesn't count. Dark ranger was a neutral hero.)

I just don't find them interesting anymore.

They've been regressed, broken, manhandled and well..

Meh

It was neutral, but you still played as Sylvanas in TFT's Undead Campaign where she broke away from the Scourge. They weren't going to not have the undead available as an option for WoW, yet the picked faction system ruled out the Scourge. And so, the Forsaken was playable.

The WC3 Night Elves didn't have a split on the level of TFT's Undead Civil War to warrant having a kingdom of Night Elves playable while the rest of them are NPCS or enemies.

Well except that it wasn't really a civil war, or at least not just a civil war: it was a rebellion. You are clearly playing as the Scourge when you play melee: the Forsaken don't have acolytes, crypt fiends, necromancers, frost wyrms, liches, crypt lords, death knights and so forth. No-one who played undead gave a shit about Sylvanas, we were all for the Lich King!

The Forsaken is to the undead what Alterac is to the humans. Or perhaps it's more like the Syndicate.

I'm talking about the lore. They don't have them, as far as I'm aware. OK they got DKs in Wrath but every race got DKs.

Maiev. Now she was a proper elf. Slaughtered and tortured demons, then went back home to fuck her hot elven wife, rinse and repeat ad infinatum.

THey just ruined her so no-one else would feel bad.

Orc Icon (War3) Thank god for no half-elven orcs.

Well, we know that Grom's wife was weak.
