Yeah the Alliance are evil and should have their guts ripped off and thrown to feed undead canines.

As well as Illidan.

Have Thalassian elves ever been shown to own slaves, bar that one leper gnome facility, which could very well be a hidden illegal thing?

Does siphoning essence from an imprisoned naaru count?

He is, isn't he? What made me hesitate at first were people's comments saying they received theirs with some broken pieces; either a horn or hair or a warglaive tip, even fingers. But I decided I'm getting one anyway because the details and the pose are too damn awesome.

Besides the Blizzard employees' "it is because I tell you so" shtick, is there really any substantial proof that a demon has been permanently destroyed? I'm of the belief that the only true way to get rid of demons forever is with a void that sucks them into non-existence lol. Illidan should have been gone for good when he was slain in Outland unless A) he is not a demon and/or B) Outland is not really in the Nether or "fel-saturated".

Two months, according to Illidan.

New lore vs old lore. All these years we've been told Outland was in the Nether. Or at least partially. Enough to enter the Nether when flying ingame between zones. But the Illidan book places the planet in the Great Dark Beyond. So it isn't in the Nether and all the demons killed then will return as we see with Kazzak and Illidan.

That or Maiev captured his soul inside his body before it could be destroyed by his death or something like that. Like Sargeras did with all the demons he defeated and Mardum. He binded their souls there so they weren't sent to the Nether. Maybe Maiev did the same with Illidan and one of those crystals and it can work regardless of location.

I'm kinda surprised no one's made a dating simulator for WoW charcters. I mean, who wouldn't want to date Illidan? Sure, he's got body horrors out the yin-yang, but he goes around topless! That's hot, right?

Honestly, I think Illidan is actually a cool character. Although now I like him a lot less after the whole Xe'ra thing.

To be honest, this direction they've gone with him is a huge step backwards. He should not be some sort of prophesized champion of the Army of Light. If anything, I think what Blizzard should have done is create a sort of anti-hero version of that army, one that comprises of DK's, Warlocks, Shadow Priests, (maybe Rogues), and Demon Hunters rather than the more traditionally heroic classes.

I like Illidan but they ruined that with this Xe'ra and destined crap.

when I read the novel, I said to myself Ok, this is way better than TBC which was a clusterfuck when it came to the lore.

then came that part with Xe'ra which completely ruined everything, not to mention those in - game quests.

Xe'ra's not going to ruin how much I like Illidan. I see her as yet another fangirl who can't stop talking about how much she wants his Illidong. (It doesn't help that my character has/had an in-game thing for him, though even she's having her doubts since Black Rook Hold has finally sunk into her).

Wish I had more time to do mythics so I can get more soul fragments and finally get through this questline. Oh, well.

I just did the quest where I relive the Black Temple fight from Illidan's perspective. It was pretty goofy for a questline that had been taking itself very seriously. Then I turned it in and the Naaru chunk told me that I've begun my path of redemption for killing Illidan. Da fuq? I guess all those times I saved the world don't count. Nor, for that matter, do all of Illidan's victims since it was all in service of his ultimate goal.

I'll tell ya, Blizz has some warped views on morality.
