Seems like an odd choice for a first discussion, but it sorta dawned on me that I wanted to ask what anyone else here thinks about having more anti-heroes in WoW's story.
I already mentioned that I'm pretty much the guy who grew up liking heroes like Wolverine and Batman. It'd probably have less representation among the Alliance than the Horde, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist at all.
I can already think of at least a couple of anti-heroic concepts that could fit within the Alliance:
-The Alliance find out that Bolvar is the new Lich King and Jailer of the Damned. Instead of being overcome with despair, the Death Knights that are now part of the Alliance army instead revere Bolvar as their patron and their place in the world is now to follow his will as protectors of the Alliance's dead.
-The Dark Irons make more advancements and gain more freedom to represent their crafts in Ironforge, such as ways to harness the powers of shadow and fel. They could serve a similar role to how the Blood Elves brought the concept of the Light to the Horde, in that instead of outright worshiping shadow it is merely used as a tool.
I could probably continue with more ideas but I wanna know what others think first.
