Oh man, I thought I was the only one who felt like this. Kalimdor really should have been the only continent in original WoW, because it was clearly set up as the new world of Horde/Alliance. Then...

Night Elves have Korean and Shinto influences rather than Chinese.

Orcs as Mongols I can see, but the Mogu are firmly Qin Dynasty Chinese. The Thunder King is very much like Emperor Qin Shi...

Just read it, and feel like it is a bit like the middle child of this series. The first volume held juicy secrets about the origins of the cosmos, the titans, etc, and the third one will be...

I would change a few things just to be more consistent, but I think overall I'd keep it mostly the same:

- Keep the Titans as metallic giants, and not living worlds. I just think that is an...

The answer for this is in Chronicle. If you look at the map of the cosmology at the beginning of the book, you see Fel wedged between Light and Death, with Fire as its corresponding element. So it...

Hello all,

Feanor's story was probably borrowed from Irish mythology by Tolkien. It is very similar to the tale of the coming of the 'Children of Danu' to Ireland. They burn their ships so they...

Not the answer you were expecting but: Chronicle is the best written. I think the prose in this book is more professional than any other Warcraft tie-in. It can even be quite beautiful. Otherwise,...

Sorry but this sounds like something from someone who hasn't played the old RTSs. If anything the movie expands on the lore of the WC1 which had a slender-at-best-plot. It's hardly stunted.

I totally agree. This is the element I liked. The idea of Azeroth maintaining these armed elite of knights and footmen etc in a time of unending peace, as the WC1 manual portrayed it, always annoyed...

I'm more disappointed that the movie verse was a good opportunity to create a more streamlined, less-rectcon'd version of the lore that sort of didn't bring the baggage of 20 years of evolving lore,...

Movieverse: Bonds of Brotherhood

Just read the graphic novel. Short review + lore notes:

Pretty abyssal. Lots of take-it-or-leave-it Whedon-y quip dialogue, and awful, awful 90s art. Characters are indistinguishable from each...

I just went over some bits again. It seems there are 2 causes:

It is heavily implied that fel magic is killing the land (though the orcs don't know this).

This creates a lack of food across...

Yup. Just finished it.

Quick review: quite boring, sparsely written, repetitive. Didn't really enjoy it. Funnily enough, it reminded me of a poorly written Cormac McCarthy's the road. It is a...

Bloodsworn Spoilers

Hello. Got my copy of Bloodsworn. Pretty crappy. Had none of the deft characterization nor motivation of Dark Riders, was riddled with lazy writing and cliches and offered very little insight into...
