I never heard that there were plans for an Old God raid in MoP. What's the source on that?

I know it's a longshot, but is there any sign of the Path of the Titans in the Broken Isles? That'd be cool.

Off the top of my head..

Vanilla:

- Tons and tons of cut content. But a lot of it was never seriously developed to begin with. There's still the old whiteboard shot depicting Northrend and...

I'm not saying it's an asspull, but the whole "whoops, my bad, caused a huge war... oh well" tone of it is pretty unsatisfying. Why are we helping this guy again?

"Look, that incident with Iron Horde was just a misunderstanding. Garrosh was supposed to convince them to fight the Burning Legion, not invade Azeroth."

Really, Blizzard? Really???

Even if this closes off the Emerald Dream for real for the future, I don't think this expansion will see a conclusion to Azshara's story, and we certainly have the Old Gods to deal with as well. So...

They already had that reputation. Both Ghost and Warcraft Adventures were further along when they were cancelled.

But yeah. Titan's cancellation is probably a positive sign for WoW.

I think it's pretty obvious that if they don't hit Farahlon in the WoD content cycle, it's just never going to happen unless for some ungodly reason there's another Draenor expansion. Blizzard...

I wouldn't be surprised if whatever plans for Ogre-based content just get scrapped and this is all we get. It's not that relevant to the main story and there's already a lot of content planned for...

No, the worst part is that this will probably lead to Wrathion explaining that the lesson that the Iron Horde will teach the Alliance/Horde about unity or reconciliation or whatever is worth the...

As bad as Cataclysm was, TBC was worse:

- The Sargeras retcon. Unforgivable. Overall the entire Draenei storyline was just kinda stupid.

- Karazhan was cool, but.. zero story relevance. Huge...

Yeah. Like I said, what I really think it boils down to is that Metzen likes all the characters and plots introduced directly through the RTS games and within WoW itself and wants to run with those...

These aren't new problems. Why were there Horde towns all over Northrend? You just assume that each faction has had time to set up outposts, or you introduce new groups that are allied with the...

I don't buy the "no more villains" argument at all. Yes, a lot of major WC3 characters were gone after TBC and WotLK, but you still had WotA characters such as Azshara and Xavius, as well as... yes,...

Yeah, I could see Danath and Arator being brought back but you can do that while ignoring Outland. Same goes with Maiev. Akama I don't see ever really being used again. The Naaru can just be replaced...

Blah. I never really considered it, but I could see Blizzard basically tossing Outland entirely as a part of Warcraft canon in favor of Draenor. I mean, it'll still exist, but the story will never...

Sadly, there are probably very good odds that Zul will end up being revealed as tied to one of these groups (probably the OGs.)

What's your favorite WoW plot twist/reveal/development?

Self-explanatory title. I'm curious about what other people think.

Personally, I always liked the way that Kael'Thas' betrayal of Illidan was revealed... you're questing through Netherstorm,...

I think it's a stretch to say that MC was an Old God raid. It was just Ragnaros doing shit on his own, his being a servant of the OGs wasn't really that relevant.

TBC only had vague OG allusions,...

TBC introduced content that was part of the WoW universe from the start and everyone knew would be added. It was hardly a side excursion, and it contributed to several ongoing plot threads that were...

I think what irritates me the most at the moment is Blizz's insistence that this "isn't a time travel expansion" and is mostly self-contained. Okay, so either this expansion represents an irrelevant...

Garrosh doesn't have some sort of tragic hidden backstory that can make him sympathetic. I mean, they can make shit up at this point but it won't be convincing.

I imagine that the character arc...

The UBRS choice is interesting. One thing that bugs me about the Iron Horde is that.. it's been done already, as the Dark Horde. It just wasn't focused on very much in Vanilla. So maybe we'll see...
