Default Hearthstone and lore

Full disclosure: I don't pay much attention to Hearthstone. I don't like TCGs. I acknowledge it's a great game but it's not for me.

But lately, especially with the grand tournament expansion, I've been seeing a lot of interesting art featuring new creatures and concepts. Murlocs mounted on giant frogs, ethereal camels, new and unique goblin and gnomish inventions. It seems to me like Hearthstone may be expanding the world in a way that WoW couldn't... kind of like how the RPG used to do things.

But there's an "out"- Hearthstone exists as a game within Azeroth. Some of these concepts may be fiction within the world. Though part of me thinks some of them may be inspired by concept art that never made it into WoW.

What are some unique concepts from Hearthstone that deserve to be treated as "serious" lore?

Runes

I like to think totem golems are built by solitary shaman to protect the spirits of the departed.

Well lorewise infernals are golems powered by corrupted elementals. Can't the same be said of totem golems for the non-corrupted?

Gnomish priests (lluminators?) using the Light to give their robots free will and shields is canon and no one can tell me otherwise.

First off we do have the Lore Corner in the HS/HotS sub-forum, maybe merge?

Imo the first definitive piece of new lore is that TGT is a real thing and it's just a more jovial continuation of the Argent Tournament.

Also I can't really think of any particular card I'd mention at this time but I think the mech theme is worth exploring and the weird/clunky robots of Warcraft could make an interesting (part of an) expansion.

So it's canon that, in-universe, people play card games as Garrosh or Gul'dan...

I want to see the riot in Stormwind, when the Varian legendary is released as a Warrior minion.

Scratch that. I want to see the riot in Orgrimmar.

"DO YOU SEE, MY BROTHERS?! GARROSH WAS IN COLLUSION WITH THE ALLIANCE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! THAT'S WHY VARIAN SAVED HIS LIFE FROM GO'EL'S RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE; HE KNEW GARROSH WOULD ESCAPE AND BRING MORE SUFFERING TO OUR HORDE!!"

On the other hand, if we go by the Warrior reskin, having Varian as a Warrior minion tells us that Magni was the High King that the Alliance deserved.

"Yeah, but those corporate bastards are making us pay EXTRA GOLD to replace the Horde villain with a true Alliance hero!"

The idea of commanding Varian as Magni greatly excites me.

It's all canon.

Especially those parts. You know the parts.

I'm gonna invent a card game featuring Hitler and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
