To be honest the saurok aren't the only enemies who seem out of place on the isle. Are the pandaren too stupid to bar entry to hozen and virmen? The turtle might be big but she's only near pandaria for a short time every 10 years.

I like to imagine the hozen daring each other to jump off the turtle, lowering their numbers drastically

Didn't Jesse Cox do that during his play-through?

From what i can gather, these are the places were there are Jinyu tribes but they seem to have a multicultural thing with the Pandaren and Hozen

There's a village in Krasarang Wilds (under siege by Sauroks), and remnants of some Jinyu architecture at the fields in Valley of the Four Winds.

OMACRON REMINDER: Be sure to find out in your next big meeting as to what's good "pedantry." If we wanted to make them cry more tears of joy, with what sort of "pedantry" should we be engaging ourselves?

Sorry Oma, but I can't help much with this last question. Not in beta, so finding names is difficult, and I stopped learning Chinese after about 3 lessons. To busy to keep up with it.

I did ask that. Go over fluff from beta and PTR patches and point out inconsistencies. You did a good job with some of the datamined dungeon stuff, keep it up.

Omacron reminder: Since you'll be working with publishing and texts and whatnot...

Please, for the love of gods, find out what became of the Kael'thas novella and do everything in your power to make sure it sees the light of day.

To my knowledge, Chinese naming conventions are similar to the black ghetto style, where names are assembled based on sounding like a name, as opposed to being previously established. The characters that are used for the phonetics of a name have meaning, particularly when a word has a synonym, but it's nothing like attaching seemingly unrelated "meanings" to names, such as David meaning beloved for no obvious reason.

Well, there is the thing about if 2,000 years are enough time for the rise of the Night Elves. Previous instances of the lore seemed to paint their civilization as more... ancient than that. Or at least I though there would be several generations between their separation from the trolls and the sundering. If we were talking about humans, that would be a non-issue. But you know... elves.

At first, it didn't jive well with me, but at the end if it means Azshara was a veteran of those wars, "la cosa cambia" and gets interesting. Just be careful to check Malfurion's age by current sources. And analyze what problems if any can occur of making him (and other characters - Jarod, for example) a veteran of those wars too.

Also, be careful to put the evolution of the night elves at least 500 or a thousand years before, so the two don't get mix up.

The night elves were part of the Zandalari Empire so it doesn't mean they couldn't have had a leader already, the leader just answered to the Zandalari. Course the new lore also mentions they didn't go to the Well till after they rebelled against the Zandalari. We also don't know their ages and since they didn't have the well till after the rebellion we don't know how long they lived. For all we know Azshara was quite young and about the same age as Malfurion and co. But I wouldn't worry since I'm sure the Zandalari are going to get plenty of development in MoP which in turn may explain races connected to them.

Zin-Azshari was probably Zul'Kal or something.

Azshara strikes me as the reignant night elven Queen that helped the Pandaren. To be exact, she strikes me as having her blue ass on that throne before Furion knew how say "Elune"

I actually got an answer on my first day here and I didn't even ask about it... it helps that my boss is its author. Hopefully you'll hear more soon.

She hated all non-elves, and saw all non-Highborne as completely expendable (Highborne are just expendable), so why would she help?

Does the delay have anything to do with Kael not tying into recent expansions?
