Why does Germany import so much of its energy needs?

https://www.cleanenergywire.org/fact...d-fossil-fuels

Is it still like that?

As the article states, there isn't much coal left over here. Renewable energy sources are being built upon, but it's still gonna be a while until they are at the level they need to be. We also have to compensate for getting out of nuclear power.
So we need to import. Which is ok, I guess. At least that way we're importing something...

Ireland (IRA),
Well, there WAS a time where Irish were viewed as more prone to violence and terrorism. There was also a difference between that terrorism and that shown by Islam. IRA wasbt really citizen based.. As in, their targets were institutions, police departments, ect. There was also a huge problem with The Irish in the US funding terrorism back home.

In fact, those Irish immigrants nearly started a war between America and Canada.

Islam is different. It targets citizens. Concerts. People.

Not institutions.

And that matters

*Note Im not claiming that the IRA never killed innocents.

I'm sure that will solve the problem and nothing else is influencing their situation.

Nope, just keep people in prison longer, ban porn, and invade the privacy of your citizens. Then, like Nigel Forage said, when all that doesn't work, you can always start making the internment camps!

There was an attempted terrorist attack in Texas a few years ago but the guy was shot before he could do anything.

Do you think I could wear my combat boots in Texas without being judged? I really like them and they make me taller.

Probably not. Texans are really big on traditional gender roles unless you go to a big city.

Saudi Arabia, the heart and soul of global terrorism, are moving into overdrive. Threatening their terror rival Qatar with war and seemingly having a hand in the recent terror attack in Iran.
They seem desperate, are their money running out?

Don't forget the part where they're partially motivated by Russian fake news.

I see the Russians have become the Jews of the present time. The weak-minded always need their scapegoat, I suppose.

"Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani told CNN the FBI has confirmed the hack and the planting of fake news."
The weak-minded will always bury their heads in the sand, I suppose.

Let me guess, you won't believe this news unless someone in the FBI leaks details and then gets arrested for it to prove its veracity.

People shouldn't be leaking and the real heroes are the co-workers that turn them in.

That depends entirely on the leak and the intent of the government.

That is when you tell a member of congress or the inspector general. You don't just betray the government because the last election didn't go your way. You swear to uphold the constitution and the constitution lays out how we pick our leaders. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and wait until the next election.

If everyone took that mentality people would be betraying the government left and right. It would be complete and utter chaos because there would always be someone that puts party over nation. The FBI would have to take that factor into account when they conduct investigations for clearances. There would be purges every time there was a peaceful transfer of power and people who didn't vote for our new leaders wouldn't be able to get a security clearance.

Some people are incapable of thinking of these kind of things. There needs to be a respect for the rule of law or the social contract crumbles. We don't unilaterally make decisions. That is why militarys in places like Thailand overthrow their governments when they don't like them and install their own leaders. They simply decide without regard to anyone else that they know better and since they have the capability to take over they just do it. Sometimes I wonder if certain people are more than comfortable with making big decisions like that on their own and the only thing stopping them from infringing on everyone else is that they are just incapable of doing so and not because they believe in our system of laws. That is why they end up in prison though.

A lot of the people that leak things are just dumb though like the UK intelligence that made them mad at us.

Not the American politics thread.

Anyways today is the Brexit election May V Corbyn.

Mays talking about censoring the internet, bringing back fox hunting, and police cuts have pissed ppl off so what was once a comfortable over 10 point lead is now down to neck and neck.

Will May ruin her own chances of victory or will Comrade Corbyn be the failure everyone expects him to be?

There's only one way to find out...
