Default WoW Character Alignment (D&D)

Even though we're told repeatedly not to use this wacky system, screw it. State your lists.

Orb of Venom

I'd call Wrathion True Neutral.

Didn't the D&D morality system change? Now it's something like Lawful Good, Good, Unaligned, Evil, and Chaotic Evil.

It did for the fourth edition and everyone continued to use the old one anyway. The fifth edition brings back the old one.

Lawful Good: Tirion
Neutral Good: Anduin Wrynn
Chaotic Good: (getting a blank right now)
Lawful Neutral: Sky Admiral Rogers (first fundamentalist Alliance I could think of)
True Neutral: Malfurion (because he doesn't give a shit about anything)
Chaotic Neutral: Illidan or Wrathion (no matter the cost, I will do what I feel is right)
Lawful Evil: Sylvanas (a manipulator)
Neutral Evil: Gul'dan (power for its own sake)
Chaotic Evil: Most demons

A month late, but for me this is just too interesting to pass up:

Lawful Good
Gelbin Mekkatorque (Science follows rules and he seems to be doing it for everyone's good.)

Neutral Good
Velen (Opting out of smaller conflicts for the greater good since TBC)

Chaotic Good
Illidan Stormrage (Right intentions, wrong means. Most of the time.)

Lawful Neutral
Tyrande Whisperwind (To understand the true nature of the character-defining line 'Only the goddess may forbid me anything', I want you to drop the first word in it as something that was situational to the scene and the line's intended in-story recipient back then, and then repeat the rest out loud. Also notice how neither version of the line contradicts the other in any way whatsoever.)

True Neural
Thrall (Because doing it for your own people and family does not automatically equal doing it for the general idea of good. Just look at the above, devoted guide to their people who also did not get called good.)

Chaotic Neutral
Tricky one. I'm tempted to be a bit of a cop-out and throw in the name of the protagonist of the one and only fic I wrote about warcraft. But that wouldn't say much to anyone and would just seem like blatant advertising, so I'll leave it at that.

Lawful Evil
The generic goblin mindset of abusing everything and everyone to turn a profit seems to reflect this pretty well. Could name Gallywix here I guess, but I honestly don't know if he conforms to the stereotype.

Neutral Evil
Sylvanas ("...we will slaughter anyone who stands in our way" -Sylvanas)

Chaotic Evil
Garrosh Hellscream (When you have a boss who beats up his challengers and only stays in power for as long as his so-called 'allies' don't manage to rip his head clean off, you have a textbook case of chaotic -might makes right- evil, no matter what kinda BS he gives you about being honorable.
Disclaimer: I would call him lawful like some of the above posters if and only if he actually had the subtlety to be a true manipulator. Which is not the same thing as being a blatant bully, FYI.)

I think Jaina Proudmoore remains Neutral Good, though she gained some neutral tendencies.

I'd say Varian is Chaotic Good because he's motivated by emotion more than any strict code or sense of honor.

A character actually has to have "laws" to be lawful, and since no one in the setting has any principles no one is lawful.

Which means they resemble Kings of actual history!

I think he's intentionally supposed to be Lawful Good, since Blizzard has made attempts to liken him to Uther and Lothar. (Both characters whom I consider to be Lawful Good in alignment definition.)

I got interested in WOW because of the comics. Varian is like the least Lawful Good individual I've read about in WOW, what with his being a Barbarian Gladiator hero who is ruled by his emotions and pride.

"He's Lawful Good, like Conan."
