That's the thing, he kinda is.

He's really dang arrogant.

I think that's bad writing but it's the case.

I always thought a part of it was that Amon was using the non-Tal'darim Protoss to create his body, which goes against what they had been taught/promised by following him, and Alarak ended up stumbling onto the truth.

so if the zerg and protoss are genetically incapable of fusing (which is why they had to make hybrid) why were they chosen to fuse by the xelnaga?

I think it would have been... I guess interesting if the Protoss and Zerg weren't supposed to be the two races, until Amon got involved in their development and steered them in that direction, with the purpose of using them for his own purposes. Of course, by doing so, they became vessels for the other Xel'Naga, which is why he wiped them out in Ulnar, to try and keep them from stopping him.

And he would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those pesky kids and that damn Queen Bitch of the Universe.

They were incapable of properly merging. Amon was creating the Hybrid - and his own new body - from protoss and zerg because as a forced, unnatural merger of essence and form, they couldn't properly "ascend" to resurrect the Xel'Naga. Even the Hybrid "types" were glaringly uneven mergers, each looking and functioning along the lines of being either "mostly zerg" or "mostly protoss."

He was trying to stop the infinite cycle of rebirth by using a dead-end, incompatible mix of zerg and protoss to inhabit and eradicate all other life, and therefore eliminate any possibility of future races eventually evolving to provide another viable avenue of rebirth for the Xel'Naga.

Pretty sure they were created by the XN, but Amon went against norms and uplifted them.

Yeah. I didn't like it either.
The Protoss destroyed entire worlds just to get rid of Zerg.

She didn't cite Terrans or other life being blown up though, just Zerg.

Zerg don't matter if they're not sapient Imo

So, i finally got LotV but i played everything from the beggining. I wonder why struggled so much with WoL and HotS the first time?

Anyway just finished HotS and it got me thinking about the leaked cinematic with the Kerrigan clone in a tank (because they didnt bother changing Mengsk dialogue so it doesnt fit the actual game cinematic) What do you think that was the beta HotS story? Perhaps Valerian was helping his dad in secret and then betrayed him?

It was a flashback to when Mengsk implanted the explosive in her body.

I like him but I'm also kinda 'eh' about how much of a writers pet he seems like.

Not once does anything go wrong for him.

EDIT:

I am LOVING Co Op mode though and hope they add him.

I see truths where i did not before.

Just finished the Zera prologue. I'll start LotV tomorrow. I'm dreading it since i didnt like the crystal missions nor the prologue, I dont like playing as protoss since their units take forever to build and everything is so expensive.

I also forgot to add, thank goodness they changed that, id actually prefer a clone connected psychonically over Kerrigan getting infested deinfested studied and reinfested without anyone noticing the bomb in her head.

----------

What exactly is the difference between the warp gate and the normal mode?

edit: nvm just saw, never arsed to do it in WoL much less in the Prologue, i guess that explains why the protoss girl was making such a huge deal about those two pylons lol

-----------

I'm so gonna miss my waves and waves of swarmlings and purple banelings. Kinda pissed that the canon swarm is the green one when i went for the purple one

What is this nonsense about cloning and bombs?

All he did in the original was shock her with the old ghost implant she had, which they thankfully removed because we had a whole damn mission way back when about turning all that ghost implant nonsense off to give her full access to her powers.

In the final version he just shocked her with the keystone because that actually made sense.

I thought it was a clone before Aldrius clarified. And by bomb i meant "thing in her head that made her hurt" not literally a bomb.

Afterwards i just said i would have prefered an hypothetical psi-linked clone over using the ghost implant (which i called bomb) because it would be silly for her to still have it after all the shit that went through Ks body (and i had forgotten that SC mission)

Did you get it now or i have to explain slower?

I get it, no need to be snippy.

I just think clones are silly.

Mass void rays and carriers, get the repair ability for mechanical units. Build concentric rings of cannons around the artifact (with pylons in the center) and park your ass there.

yeah in a glimmer of brilliance before sleeping i realized carriers.would have been really helpful, but i chose the Mothership, because it looked cool.

I did get mecha zealots and autorepair but got to building them and the cannons too late

Omacron's advice works, but to defend the Nexuses (Nexi?) I find that you do not want to park your ass there. Protoss have the weakest defense and work best as an offensive 'deathball'. This mission is definitely playing against type.

Some tips:

The attacks happen in the same order and location every time. Reinforce your allies in that order. Your allies can use your shield batteries and they need cannons.

Like Omacron said, use the Spear of Adun's repair beam and use your Carriers' repair drones. Also, you can never have too many shield batteries.

While you can not use allied pylons, Karax's passive build speed boost still works if he is standing by a building in one of your pylon fields.

If you only build a Nexus (and Assimilators) near the free expansion, some AI quirk seems to cause it to be ignored (they walk past it towards the relic) until the very end.

That is what I found. I am not that great at the game.
