Default Where are all the Mok'nathal in WoD?

This struck me as I was thinking about Rexxar being added as a hero in HotS...

Where are the Mok'nathal in WoD? The ogres are shown to have a pretty developed civilization and get a shitload of screen time in this expac, and the orcs are all over... and yet fewer Mok'nathal appear in WoD than they do in TBC! TBC gave us a whole clan of them! WoD just gives us Rexxar who makes a cameo here and there... and it's not even clear if he's AU Rexxar or MU Rexxar!

As a side, with all the attention paid to Ogres, Gronn and even Draenor Giants... I'm surprised the Ogre war god Nath wasn't elucidated at all.

They didn't exist in the AU Draenor.

Well, what about Rexxar, if he isn't from MU Azeroth?

Aside from Rexxar, they weren't #savage enough to exist in alternate Draenor.

Maybe they're originally from another continent.

That would require blizz to care about developing an interesting and vibrant world instead of telling a bad comic book rule of cool plot

Blades of grass made them migrate in the MU, ages before the Horde even was conceived. In the AU those blades of grass were missing.

I call cut content.

Or just simply "blades of grass lololol not getting any lore" excuse.

Plus, I'm pretty sure Rexxar in WoD is from AU, since he has all his pet buddies and - from what I remember - doesn't recognize the PC.

Really fuckin random to not show any backstory on him tho. Maybe they'll just say that in the AU they didn't live with the other orcs, maybe in the ogre continent etc.

I have a feeling they switched Mok'nathal and Laughing Skull places of origin (from what I remember LS clan was from Farahlon) and just cut Mok'nathal from the xpac - which I believe would base themselves on Gorgrond.

I don't think they ever intended to include the Mok'nathal or Dragonmaw clans. I'll assume this is a case of "not within the scope of the game world," like all the little towns, landmarks, and miles upon miles of geography that the game omits for the sake of brevity.

Heh, maybe they're just nomads and they never happen to be where you think you'd find them, or maybe they're settled in Farahlon... also home of the dragosaurs and those who hunt them.

To be entirely honest, I completely forgot about the Mok'nathal until I read this thread. I didn't once think about them, from the announcement of WoD to present... and I like Rexxar enough that I wanted him to become Warchief after Garrosh.
