Nice story. Got me hooked until the end. But the sudden ending did not surprise me (since I could see that it's gonna end soon). For some reason I felt deep sadness towards Sylvanas. I say she kills her younger sister, as she is but a shell of her former self, ending her previous life completely and starting a new one. (which she can't if Arthas is still alive..)
Amateur lore writer..Got better suggestions?

I would remove the part about killing her sister entirely. It's too blatant.

At first, that's what I thought too. Go back and read it again. "The knife came down" could mean a lot of things. Did the blade go to the heart (to kill her)? To the ropes (to free her)? To her throat (as a threat)? So many things. That ambiguity is what drives the whole story; and, I suspect the real work it's based on. It forces you to confront your assumptions, like those old "Which Man Looks Guilty?" posters.
Every ending is but a new beginning.
