I know. Just sounds really kinky, if you ignore that they're demons and that lust probably played no part in the whole affair.

I liked Adria. There are no good witches kids. If they stab you in the back it's your own fault for trusting them. Same with demons...

That'd actually be neat. Doubt it'll be the case though.

Adria being human instead of demon makes evil that much more evil than if she was a demon.

That's a bit too fine a nuance for Blizzard, I think.

I think the exact opposite. Adria being more evil because she chose to be evil was the point of it.

Did she just feign ignorance about that in Diablo 3 Act 1 when we visited the Witch's Hut?

Nah, she only found out about it after Cain died. He had found out and written it down. She didn't tell Tyrael and the heroes because she thought they'd stop trusting her mother.

Leah is a moron and I now hope that she stays dead. She clearly deserves her soul's damnation.

Tyrael believes otherwise. He admires her for fighting against evil, despite the taint she'd been born with.

A bit. That said, we're talking about her mother, who had time establish a relationship before her daughter even found out about her past. I can kinda understand Leah, although I wouldn't have acted the same way.

It's like not telling someone that Gul'dan was a leader of the Shadow Council and not telling other people about it, out of a fear of people not trusting him, only to be surprised that he betrays everyone.

You should. Tbh, I think Diablo's lore is far better than Warcraft's, despite how simplistic D3 was at times. Or rather, the way it is handled. So many orders with interesting backgrounds... Religions that don't all lead to the same thing, the Light... Books of Cain/Tyrael. Yeah, Diablo is great.

The world of Sanctuary feels too small for my taste. It's barely two continents of a few seemingly loosely-connected nations with barely any history worth mentioning.

In not too versed in Diablo lore, so I have to ask. Has it been stated that it's impossible that there's more out there? Looking at the map, there's room for many more continents that could simply not have been uncovered yet.

Blizzard has yet to bother expanding outside of this super-continent. Most countries barely have received more than a mention. We keep treading the same ground. Tristram. Tristram. Tristram. Neither the angels nor demons seem all that interested in anything beyond this continent either. This continent is the Tokyo for all of the Diablo franchise's supernatural monsters.

All the more frustrating when every character class comes from these colorful and interesting places - island jungle, mountaintop monasteries, demon-infested wastelands, etc.- that get all sorts of flavor injected into their short stories, only for us to traipse through Tristram over and over again, or perhaps even worse still, visit another desert city with another sewer full of undead and another race of cat-people, and more serpent-men and another hidden arcane sanctum full of magical portals.

We sure spent a long time waiting for Caldeum to find out it was just Lut Gholein all over again.

At least we're finally getting to see Westmarch...seemingly just in time for them to demolish the place.

Good thing we saved Tristrim, Caldeum, Lut Gholein and Bastion Keep, though; that way we can dedicate half of our time to visiting all of them again in Diablo 4.

Diablo 3 felt too much like an appeal to Diablo 1 and 2 nostalgia.

* Skeleton King from D1? Check.
* The Butcher from D1? Check.
* A labyrinth dive down the Tristram Cathedral and Rogue's Monastery? Check.
* Visiting Tristram again? Check.
* Miss Lut Gholein and its sewers? Here's Caldeum and its sewers.
* Miss exploring the barren desert of Aranoch? Here's the barren desert of Kehjistan.
* Remember fighting in the palace of Lut Gholein? Here's fighting in the palace of Caldeum.
* Miss looking for the hidden Tomb of Tal Rasha in the desert? Here's looking for the hidden tomb of Zolton Kulle in the desert.
* Remember fighting a crazed wizard in an arcane desert sanctum? Here's righting a crazed wizard in an arcane desert sanctum.
* Miss the demonic siege of the barbarian city of Harrogath? Here is the demonic siege of Bastion's Keep.

It's a miracle that there was not a jungle act in Diablo 3. But considering how story seems to jump starkly between Act 2 and Act 3, it's possible that they originally planned a jungle act between the two. But don't forget, ARM, that we are going back to Pandemonium in Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls after exploring it in Act 4 of Diablo 2.

I doubt Blizzard realized that people actually wanted to experience something new.

I love D3 (guilty pleasure), but it's story is godawful compared with the first two. The opening of D2 with Baal walking into the asylum, and the people screaming in the background, sets the perfect gritty atmosphere of the game.

In D3 they brought the Butcher back only to have him say ''Vegetables bad, meat good''.... The behind the scenes dvd is also priceless. Metzen basically says ''Hey wouldn't it be cool if Diablo was a chick?!'' At least we know how they develop new stories for WoW now.
