I could've sworn my Anschnellung series should've been a trilogy.

Publisher made you combine your first two books. Like with a lot of other speculative fiction that came out around that time, it was probably a result of The Magician duology*, with the Feist book it was based on selling like hot-cakes.

*Greenlit almost immediately after the warcraft movie became a hit, for reasons that should be obvious for anyone who read the series.

I assume nothing. I have seen it, with time-displaced versions of my own eyes.

And here I thought I was just a slow ass writer and didn't finish my trilogy even in the distant future.

Yes, but that's only because an instant is too short for time to crystallize.

Does anyone else get really bothered when heroes in movies/books/games hold back on killing the main bad guy but don't think twice about slaughtering hordes of mooks?

I'm okay with this plot device when the bad guy's somebody the hero knows--sure, it's still questionable, but I can understand it. I might do the same in the situation.

I'm more bothered when the bad guy is someone the hero doesn't know and has no reason to like, but the hero still won't kill him because it'd be wrong. Though of course, it's okay to kill his minions, who are probably just regular guys.

It kind of bugged me when I was recently re-watching Return of the Jedi. Not in regards to Darth Vader, but to the Emperor. Killing a storm trooper or TIE fighter pilot is much more morally questionable than killing the Emperor. This also pissed me off in the Prince Caspian movie.

i got you bro.

But yeah, i agree. but the only thing worse is when the bad guys just taken the heros power in return for getting their friends back. why not just kill the friends before they can regroup and work together? best of both worlds.

The Star Wars movies really aren't that good and full of plotholes.

I'm more bothered when heroes create collateral damage, which inevitably kills innocent bystanders, and everyone shrugs it off.
Collateral victims in general don't matter at all in media and it's really tiresome. Man of Steel traumatized me in that regard.
It's also the reason I got really sick of the Joker in recent years.
