The Draenei that or on Azeroth have been there for some time. They probably don't even know Illidan. And Illidan has closed off every portal there is on Outland. And I bet he has some of his faction that guard the portals. I just doubt that any Draenei has been able to use one of those portals. The Draenei on Outland have sworn to stay loyal to Illidan because he saved them, a bit like how the Orcs made contact with the Tauren.

When the Draenei become playable, they will be the ones that have been on Azeroth for quite some time.

Ack! Why not? I wanted to be Kool-Aid man. I have lost my faith in Blizzard. They better have a good explanation for that.

Seriously, Eonix said that they can't tell you what the Alliance race is, they could say that it won't be the Kool-Aid man. I loved that.

Just as a clarification, does anyone here believe that Draenai are "gothic" in nature. For me, the appeal is that they're the kind of race to stay in the shadows and become wizened elders than they're ugly/darker looking nature. I really don't see the gothic nature of them (though Worgen and Vampire like species are pretty freaking gothic.)

Agreed, the Draenei are certainly not Gothic. They are obviously a Shamanistic race (I'm pretty sure of that) much like the Horde, and methinks that the Horde and Draenei co-existed peacefully during ancient times. I would not surprised if one of the two races thought the other Shamanism.

Every spell except for Shadow Strike was from the Orc spells, and they did have a Shaman unit I think.

Nope, Draenei aren't gothic. They at least aren't in my eyes. Doesn't mean I am really fond of them. But I do much rather have them than the gothic races you mentioned.

Akama was an Elder Sage, basically a copy of the Far Seer, only instead of Far Sight he had Shadow Strike I believe.

I follow WoW vaguely at best and have fallen behind in my WarCraft Lore, but here is just a thought. What if the Alliance race were High Elves? Blizzard could introduce some kind of weird system of shared traits, or possibly a new class available to both. Just a thought.

We've been over this. There aren't enough plain high elves left. 90% of the high elves were killed by the Scourge, 8% became blood elves, the 2% left are the ones you see as NPC's in Theramore and such.
