Crossed Swords Hearthstone Tournament Thread

So I don't need to spam the main one.

Alright, first the rules are explained here and here.

The following matches have been concluded:

Noitora 2-1 Nazja
C9H20 2-0 Malygos
Malygos 2-0 Nazja
C9H20 2-0 Quaero
Malygos 2-0 Quaero
C9H20 2-0 Nazja
C9H20 2-1 Noitora
C9H20 2-0 Stormcaller
Malygos 2:0 Noitora
Malygos 2:0 Porimlys
Quaero 2:1 Noitora
Stormcaller 2:1 Porimlys
Quaero 2:0 Nazja
Quaero 2:0 Porimlys
Stormcaller 2:0 Quaero
Nazja 2:0 Sonneillon
Nazja 2:0 Stormcaller
Stormcaller 2:1 Malygos
C9H20 2:0 Sonneillon
C9H20 2:0 Porimlys
Noitora 2:0 Porimlys

America Games:

Porimlys 2:0 Noitora
Malygos 2:1 Porimlys
Malygos 2:1 Stormcaller
Quaero 2:0 Malygos
Quaero 2:0 Stormcaller

Those are all EU matches since this week is supposed to finish with the EU first before moving on to NA. Some NA matches were already played by mistake however and I recorded them (the one that was reported anyway) but please don't make this even more complicated to keep track of on my end than it already is, wait for next week for NA battles.

If any match was not reported or I somehow forgot about it, let me know.

Scoreboard:

7pts C9H20
7pts Malygos
5pts Quaero
4pts Stormcaller
2pts Nazja
2pts Noitora
1pts Porimlys
0pts Sonneillon

Logically this is true, it is the least cost-effective spell in the game, don't let your emotions rule you young padawan. :-P

Please check your results in case of error, I am doing my best to keep this straight but you can never be too careful.

Haven't played anyone yet

Addendum: Granted I haven't been on much lately and didn't realize that North America hasn't started yet.

Actually given that more than just Sonne have not played all their games yet I think we will extend this EU portion for a while longer.

I am a bit disappointed guys, we need more activity in this thread. How were the matches? How are you liking the whole thing? Liven up the place.

100% of my losses were dealt by mages. Magic is dangerous, mmkay?

So how many people here were hit by the Onyxia + bloodlust combo that made me so glad I opted not to go for the face race?

That feel when the opponent wins with 1-2 health... You know who you are!

Yeah, you. Both times

Also, the Priest Spellpower deck will win a game, I swear it!

What were you running, druid? I know I played both games with my Secrets mage.

As I've said, I love it that you run theme decks even in a tournament AND cross-realm. We'll have to battle some time again for fun, w/m. That deck was pretty good too, almost took my best deck, and to be fair it should have, that sniper Rag of mine was gross.

Also that Noitora's deck was awesome, it really surprised me. I guess it shouldn't have since I suggested it to him, but I didn't expect to see it EU side. The only deck so far on EU to take a win from me. Come on Pori and Sonne, the bounty on my head is pretty high about now, but no pressure

We have a problem people, the games have slowed down terribly. In fact I don't think there was a single game in ~5 days. I personally tried to get my last two games done but it just did not happen. Clearly this can't go on forever.

Before discussing more these are the matches yet to be concluded:

Sonneillon-Malygos
Sonneillon-Porimlys
Sonneillon-C9H20
Sonneillon-Noitora
Sonneillon-Stormcaller
Sonneillon-Quaero
Porimlys-Nazja
Porimlys-Noitora
Porimlys-C9H20

Now I can't really disqualify anybody since everyone played at least one match, so my first idea was to declare all matches that are not completed by the new deadline (that I would set) null and void, bringing no points to either side.

However then it occurred to me that this doesn't have to end until the American side is done with, so these stray EU matches can be completed before that ends. Obviously all games not completed by the end of the American portion, be they NA or EU, will become permanently lost points.

That is why my current decision is to set the end of the EU side, and the beginning of the American side of the competition to be the end of this week. Starting next week American matches begin and any remaining EU matches can be finished then, but hopefully more EU matches are played by Monday. The NA portion will last at least as long as the EU portion, 2 weeks, but will not last longer than 3 weeks so keep that in mind.

This is not set in stone, so feel free to discuss this idea.

I have tomorrow off. I'll leave my B.Net open on North America. You want to beat my shitty basic Mage deck on EU you know how to find me.

OP updated.

Also a friendly reminder that the EU portion of the tournament ends on Sunday and from Monday onwards the American part begins, though any EU games not finished by then can be done during the American part.

I beat Pori 2-0. All I'm missing is Sonn.

Noted.

Also since some American games were played before they were due they have been added only now, OP updated accordingly. In case I haven't stressed it out enough, you can (and should) play American games now.

The taunt totems are real. "To Northrend" is probably code-phrase for lets hunt all the blue drakes in Northrend.

edit: Quaero 2:0 Maly

Sounds like a fun match.

Also OP updated with new games. As always check it to see if I missed something or made a mistake with your games.

Alright, well obviously this isn't working out for me and I'm bad at tournaments. I will abstain from further play since I'm too busy with other stuff.
