Hmm, do you think there'll be a problem with not having enough characters on a team with flight abilities?

Might be 'mandatory' to have X number of flyers on some maps to be competitive.

Though if what Oma's said remains active throughout the live version of the game you can switch person throughout fights so that'd alleviate any potential issues.

Oh man her death animation should show the whatsit that anchors her to the present breaking and her phasing out.

All the 'death' animations should be characters just leaving the battlefield after being 'unconscious' for awhile to give time for rezzes from folks like Mercy.

Winston could have a teleporter

Reaper could dissipate into smoke.

Widow would have that pixely cloak animation they do for starcraft ghosts perhaps?

What do you lot think?

I'm always a fan of unique/funny death animations.

That's a fortunate... bug...
Apparently Widowmaker's Butt is linked to her goggles.

You really shouldn't take MMOC seriously. Much more fun that way.

I just noticed that you can actually see a little bit of Reaper's face through the holes in his mask.

It makes more sense in a larger context. Protar also happens to be a member of the same Song of Ice and Fire forum I have been a member for ten years now. Same name and draenei icon even. Another person on that forum basically began reading her as queer as a preemptive strike from her being read as straight. Protar is merely starting a more direct conversation on MMO-C about a Tracer's character that is already happening elsewhere.

We don't need to know of the sexuality of our characters in video games.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly would one hope to accomplish by doing that? Wouldn't it still be nothing more than fanon, regardless of how many people one might convince of one's interpretation?

Making an early discussion on a character could affect general fandom interpretation of them later on I suppose.

Though I'm not sure the "Short hair = lesbian" thing is really a good trope to reinforce /shrug.

Yeah, but it still isn't canon, so it won't really stop other interpretations from happening.

Also, I agree with the second part of your post. I suppose that convincing others that she's a lesbian seemed easier, but...

I can only speculate, but I would prefer not to, though I think that Mutterscrawl's speculation and reservations are close to my own.

On the one hand I agree with you. I'm not a fan of romance and unless there's a subplot that somehow involves it I don't often see the point.

On the other hand, people that aren't straight would like an acknowledgement that people like them exist, and that they can be heroes and aren't going to hell.

Of course most games don't want to deal with that level of flack and the tremendous minefield that comes with addressing any kind of social issue.

So while it'd be nice if more games would include such characters it's understandable if companies don't want to touch any of that stuff with a ten foot pole.

Though they should also understand that doing it relatively well can net them pretty good PR, though it's obviously volatile.

Can't help but think fiction characters should be treated like elusive superstars - while it's allright to speculate, in the end it's up to the creators alone to choose to out them or not.

In the end, it's part of the public that is insufferable in this regard, *demanding*, instead of asking, an answer about a very personal part of a public character
