Saving the draenei and fighting against the Legion on one of their principal battlefronts are essentially two facets of the same motive.

They came like years after Draenor went kablooey. I don't know if there's an exact timeframe, but it had to have been only a short time before the start of TBC. So they weren't there to save the Draenei from the destruction. They came, what, 20 years later?

Pretty damn slow response time, honestly.

I don't know. I feel like if they were really there to fight the Legion they would have done more to stop them. Instead they just kind of get us to do it.

Right, the opening monologue for the Draenei does say they just crashed a few months ago.

What's up with Draenei and moths?

Orc Icon (War3) Orclings are great.

Space Commander M'uru was in other side of the galaxy when he heard of the goatlings plight. He came as fast as he could!

I kinda like the Laughing Skulls.

They should come back to Azeroth and join the Alliance.

I shall anxiously await the moment when the draenei fleets finally reunite, carrying millions of soldiers of the Light from thousands of planets, in order to do battle against the Burning Legion. Surely one of the fleets will be led by comrade Space Commander R'tal.

Less cool than it's radioactive lizard counterpart.

Part of me wants to remark that giant-size moths wouldn't be physically capable of flight on their own, much less being able to carry a rider, but then I remember that our taxis in Pandaria were KITES.

Yeah, I guess moth mounts could have been a thing.

Itís actually nice seeing someone with a lot of clout and experience going deeper into engine design. Itís a very neglected field and one of the biggest limitations currently in game design.

Kites we surf on, no less.

Would've been better if they were more like hang gliders.

THe Naaru found Outland because they were contacted by Khadgar, actually.

So, the timeline is like this:
- Draenor explodes
- Alliance + Draenei + Orcs stranded there with all those incoming demons for decades.
- Illidan comes, expels the demons that don't bow to him
- Khadgar contacts the Naaru after years searching for help throught the Nether.
- The Sha'tar Naaru arrive with the Tempest Keep
- The Sha'tar helps the people in Shattrath
- Kael'thas takes Tempest Keep
- the Draenei, with Naaru help, infiltrate Tempest Keep and steal the Exodar
- The Skryers abandon Kael'thas and join the Sha'tar.

The only reason i like rexxar is because he looks like Wolverine sort of... with the mask on. sort of. Also I loved the WC3 portrait for beast masters .

Khadgar tells the story if you click on him in Shattrath (Outland, obviously)

Edit:

Here's the transcript:

I am Khadgar, former apprentice to the fallen Guardian, Medivh. I'm sure you've heard his name before.

It was I who discovered that Medivh had been possessed by the Evil One, Sargeras - and that he had opened the Dark Portal between this world and Azeroth. Though I honored my Master, I was forced to slay him and put his tortured soul to rest.

I fought alongside Lord Anduin Lothar as we drove the Horde from our lands in Azeroth. As the heir of Medivh's legacy, I could do no less.

When the call finally came to invade this grim world - and put an end to the orcs' evil forever - I stepped forward along with my friends Turalyon, Alleria, Danath and Kurdran.

My comrades and I called ourselves the Sons of Lothar - in honor of the greatest, most selfless man we ever knew. We gave our all to defeat Ner'zhul and end his madness.

As this doomed world fell apart around us, we shattered the Dark Portal to prevent any further harm from befalling our beloved Azeroth.

Trapped in this broken wasteland, we did our best to survive. Over time we sensed that a new evil was closing in around us from the Twisting Nether. More foul than the dark orcs - it was the Burning Legion itself that sought to take hold of this... Outland.

While my comrades held the line against the encroaching darkness, I used my magic to reach out into the Great Dark Beyond. There, I sensed beings of immense Light - of unfathomable purity.

It was A'dal and his naaru I had found. It was nothing short of... a miracle.

<Khadgar grins to himself>

I convinced A'dal and his brethren to return here with me. I believe that only their power can drive the Legion from this universe. But as you will no doubt find - their power must first live in our hearts.

To combat the darkness, we must become beacons of their eternal Light.
