Maybe that part just mentions Malygos in passing while listing all of the (original) Aspects, or perhaps it'll be comparing Nozdormu's fall to madness to Malygos'.

That is interesting, but I have to wonder if it will just be listing off dead Aspects or something.

Also, Maraudon on 119 and Moira on 118, I assume that's talking about vanilla. So WoW will start about halfway through the book.

One might keep in mind that Murozond's involvement in Cataclysm might just coincide with the squabbling among the blue dragons as to which of them would replace Malygos. So in theory both could just merit brief same-page mentions along with any number of other characters as parts of the setup for the Shattering.

So, will Chronicles try to provide a better excuse for the Forsaken to be in the Horde?

Why do they need a better excuse?

because interesting tauren people liked them and could use them to betray the other inferior tauren people. thus they are good for the horde is the current.

Really not a fan of the art, to be honest. Something about it seems off to me, and I can't quite place my finger on it.

Don't really recognize those signatures. Are they not using Alex Horley or Peter Lee for these anymore?

C'thuns is fine, the other two are odd somehow, specially the Varian one, kinda clashes, like the characters look out of place in that one.

Jaina and Arthas look like Disney characters.

Reminds me of the art from the RPG Monster Guide, where the artist just traced over the models from WoW and kept their ultra-cartoony proportions.

Anduin and Varian- Ludo Lullabi (ink) and Konstantin Tirovec (color)
C'thun - Arthur Bozonnet. They all not a Blizzard's employers.
I don't recognize sign from pic with Arthas and Jaina.

They've never really addressed the Forsaken being in the Horde as they were shown through TFT to Vanilla (betrays Garithos' army, wars on their neighbors) that doesn't make Thrall and Co. unbelievably trusting of walking corpses or duplicitous and the Alliance unbelievably hostile towards sapient Undead (When's the last time the Alliance Death Knights got anything worse than rotten fruit?). Especially since WC3: RoC's manual talked about Thrall outlawing Necromancy since it was Old Horde magic.

I mean, it's obvious that the Forsaken only joined the Horde out of game design issues (let the Horde have a base in the Eastern Kingdoms).

It's only 3 pics, so Horley and Lee could still show up. But damn, you can really feel the absence of Wei Wang in this too.

Varian looks too small in the first pic. His proportions are completely off.
The second pic looks like generic WC3 era art and if its meant to be Jaina and Arthas, it sure doesn't capture that very well. Also, why are there lion head stuff in, what I presume is, Lordaeron?
The third pic with C'thun is okay enough. Though it still feels too cartoony. Especially compared to when they showed him menacingly in the background of the Black Empire art in Chronicles 1.

The first picture is odd, looks like what I'd expect from a comic cover. Varian, especially, is off.

I actually like the Disney feel for the second one. Shows the hopeful and "pretty" era preceding the Scourge. It's more realistic, too.

The third one is alright, but feels cartoony. Plus, we already have the hearthstone art which is almost exactly the same, except even better.

I don't see any problems with the Arthas and C'thun ones, though the Varian ones's proportions are definitely off. Still I like that design for young Anduin, better than what the comics gave him.

Because apparently, Lordaeron never used lion heads for in their iconography.

Also it can be just Stormwind

The architecture is clearly Lordaeron, many classical and romanesque elements.

Yeah, well, honestly, the quality of the art in the first two pictures is just bad, there's no way around it. The third one is somewhat OK. Too bad Wei Wang is no longer on board. And I'd love to see Samwise do some art, too.
