I still think the idea of a zombie apocalypse can be pretty scary though, especially if it's anything like the Walking Dead universe. Funny tidbit but some of my favorite werewolf films aren't all that much horror either, except American Werewolf in London. I really like the Underworld movies and Van Helsing, in particular but they're more guilty pleasures of mine than anything else. |

![]() Not gonna lie, Gravity looks like the scariest movie ever and it doesn't even feature any monsters, killers, or supernatural shit.

![]() Although it's more Horror + Action/Adventure, I love the Baltimore series by Mike Mignola (Hellboy creator)/Dark Horse comics.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltimo...omic_series%29 I love the premises behind it/setting. The Great War/World War 1 woke up slumbering supernatural horrors, vampires among other things. A plague spreads across Europe, ravaging towns and villages, also bringing the war to an end as soldiers from both sides desert in droves to be with their loved ones/die with them. Some that die from the plague rise as vampires; some are more ghoulish shambling corpses. http://bloody-disgusting.com/photosi...imorepage3.jpg The main character, Lord Baltimore is basically a Captain Ahab type figure, seeking the vampire that killed his family, killing vampires/supernatural horrors that get in his way. http://www.horor-web.cz/storage/2012...se-bells-2.jpg The world hasn't been expanded on too much, but there's a general feel of society/order breaking down in areas due to the spread of the plague and a war that just stopped. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FUy8F5wrAl...s1600/new1.jpg Oh and can't forget Witch hunters. . .err the New Inquisition. http://www.horrornewsnetwork.net/ima...1ad-bti1p4.jpg Damn good series. They need to make this a TV series or something. I'd watch the hell out of that. |

![]() Yeah Mike Mignola does cool stuff.
I saw Lords of Salem just now, and holy crap was it so boring. Rob Zombie, bud I like ya, but maybe you should go back to music. |

![]() Looks like the makers of PA and Insidious are doing a werewolf movie.
http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/32...-movie-coming/ Seems like it's making a more realistic depiction of the classic werewolf mythos. I'm excited but don't want to get too excited until I hear more about it. |

![]() V/H/S-2 is the best horror anthology that I've seen since Creepshow.
The only story I didn't like was the last one, and that's mostly because I must confess that animal abuse makes me uncomfortable. Also, personal favorite horror theme of mine. Last edited by Lord Grimtale; 10-12-2013 at 02:27 PM.. |

![]() I'd consider that a bit of a cult classic, doesn't seem to have many favorable reviews but I enjoy it for what it is. (How can you not love a werewolf shooting everyone the bird and Christina Ricci?)
An American Werewolf in London and the classic Wolf Man will always be my most favorites though. |

![]() The Blair Witch Project is one scary movie. Hearing baby noises, and children laughing at night in the middle of the woods? NOPE NOPE NOPE

![]() Yeah it's pretty good, also one of the first movies that kicked off the whole found footage craze.

All this said, Blair Witch put me to sleep. I was in 6th grade when it came out, I think... trying to remember the year, I was young. Doesn't help that I've been there and seen the house at the end. clever camera angles kind of cut out that it was a house in a community and not an isolated place in the middle of the woods. |
