The main character is Zayle the Necromancer from Knaak's other Diablo book "Kingdom of Shadow".

This might be good, but I tend to be skeptical. Also, I am filled with general rage at Knaak's WarCraft writings, so that probably is making me more pessimistic. But I don't care for Diablo as much as I do for WarCraft, so if Knaak decides to take some liberties with the former's lore, I probably won't be able to muster the will to simmer with anger.

Unholy

What lore? Most of Diablo's lore is in the games There is a bit in the manuals but really not much at all. Most of what is in the first game's manual is mentioned in Diablo 2 and there isn't much in that manual that isn't mentioned in the game itself I think.

Knaak has written two Diablo books.

Legacy of Blood - which IMHO was gold.

Kingdom of Shadow - Was cool, and had a good story.

This one, Moon of the Spider has the Necromancer character from Kingdom of Shadow. And Knaak is also writting a Diablo Trilogy - The Sin War!

Didn´t Knaak said that the Sin war trilogy was going to talk about the Prime Evil origins? I think he said it in some interview.

The Black Road is pretty good, though I prefered Knaak's two novels: Legacy of Blood and Kingdom of Shadow. It's imparative that you read Kingdom of Shadow before Moon of the Spider.
