So apparently the title of the Mass Effect anime-movie is Mass Effect: Paragon Lost.

I was dreading this until I saw that the animation studio behind it is Production I.G. The guys who produced every Ghost in the Shell movie and series.

I'm hesitantly excited.

Fans of the ground-breaking Mass Effect franchise shouldn’t miss this stunning motion picture experience born of an epic collaboration between the legendary Bioware and visionary Production IG (Ghost in the Shell, Kill Bill: Vol.1).

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is the prequel to the highly-anticipated Mass Effect 3 and follows the early career of Alliance Marine, James Vega. Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes. Learn more about the Mass Effect universe with an unprecedented glimpse into the haunted past of Mass Effect’s newest hero!

So it involves Vega. And my interest wanes a bit.

It's gonna have Garrus in it. Vega and Garrus talk about their previous exploits together in the ME3 script.

Why does everyone hate him so much despite knowing almost nothing about him?

I'll admit I'm judging ahead of time. But what little I've seen has rubbed me the wrong way. Plus he's another human when I would've preferred another alien squadmate instead.

Leaked soundtrack is out on Youtube.

Got some pretty good tracks in there...though I must admit, I'm a tad disappointed by the romance theme. Not as good as the first or second games'.

We know plenty about him. He has a whole comic to himself, and where we had the leaked script he just screamed "bland action hero meathead".

Figured they'd use another Two Steps From Hell song. This time the apt Protectors of the Earth.

Certainly got me pumped, anyway. March 6th needs to get here asap.

They want somebody to appeal to the 'bro' gamers. Lowest common denominator you know.

They could've accomplished that with Jacob.

I think Jacob was too nice to be a meathead shooter bro.

Also, as much as he has AMAZING abs, he wasn't particularly built to be a Big McHugelarge like Vega.

That said, I'm reserving judgement on Vega until I play the game. It strikes me that he's not going to be an overly-typical meatheat grunt, but I'm skeptical as to how much true depth he has.

According to some people who have actually played the game, he seems generic at first but turns out to be a pretty fleshed out character the more you get to know him.

I'm gonna wait until playing the game before passing judgement on the dude.

And his romance gave us a nice meme.

Anyway there is nothing remarkable about Vega exept for his brodude theme going on for him and he rubs me the wrong way thats all, the beefyness, the tatto, the hairstyle.

Something not right about him, now if he was a she or british... or both

Skids taps Megatron's Autobot badge.

Skids: Right. There. What does that badge even mean to you? How has wearing it forced you to modify your behaviour? I'm serious! How has being an Autobot in any way prevented you from doing exactly what you want? Because if the answer is "it hasn't"—then nothing you've said or done in the last six months counts for anything.

Jacob is probably the worst written companion of both games, I don't think there's much to redeem.
I only left him alive because ... well ... the universe will sort it out.

And of course the priiiiiiiize.

So apparently one of the gay romance scenes has been leaked.

...you know, if anyone's interested.

*cricket chirps*

Didn't think so.

I hope it doesn't go the same way that DA 2's gay romances did.

Minor info about the raloi birdmen, no spoilers:

Quote:
In an apparent bid for self-preservation, all members of the raloi delegation have left the Citadel. The raloi species first made contact with the asari, and were formally welcomed into the galactic community last year. In parting, representative Arik'aka said, "We have no wish to battle those who have yet to wrong us, nor have we the capability. The raloi plan to destroy all their artificial satellites and observation equipment in orbit. The hope is that the Reapers will see them as a pre-spacefaring civilization and spare their planet.
Also, the Reapers are leaving the yahg homeworld of Parnack alone to give them enough time to evolve so that they can be harvested in the next cycle.

If the one Yahg we've met is any indication the Reaper's next cycle would be their last.
