Hmm, unless the book that ties into the next expansion isn't easily pinpointed to the next expansion, like if they announced a "jaina book: Tides of War" Before MoP was announced, we would either think it was for a naga expansion or not an expansion precursor book at all, do you think we'd see a hint of the next expansion from the next book release? I can't imagine there would be enough time in MoP left, unless they want SoO to be another 9 months, for there to be another book?

July 18

2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. – Blizzard Licensing Panel (Hall 6BCF)
Chris Metzen (Blizzard Entertainment SVP Story and Franchise Development) and a team of esteemed guests reveal never-before-seen licensed products and plans for 2013/2014. Talk to the designers, writers and artists as we dig into toys, novels, comics, statues, and more. Panel and extended game Q&A session moderated by Kat Hunter (host of BlizzCon coverage on DIRECTV).
So that will be the time to look! Does anyone stream the events at SDCC?

I dunno, but I wonder what they have in store. Hopefully someone has access to the event and will post news after the panel's over.

Let's be honest, it would be Li li running around Stormwind and Orgrimmar and pointing out useless, widely known facts.
"Did you know Varian Wrynn is the king of Stormwind?" "Orgrimmar was founded by Orcs!"
Reminds me of Pearl of Pandaria.

With how character focused - and not plot important, far as I can tell - Vol'jin's novel ended up being, I wouldn't be totally surprised to get a novel that's about the Siege of Orgrimmar and the surrounding time period, and not so much an obvious set-up for the next expansion.

The "ultimate visual guide."

Sounds like an artbook with lore too. Or maybe a lorebook with tons of stock art I don't know.

Looks like Richard A. Knaak might have new novels on 2014.

My first Tweet, he replied:
@Blizzplanetcom No, not going to be there. Should be an interesting show, though.
He just retweeted another of my tweets concerning the SDCC Blizzard Licensed Panel video I'll post on Thursday, July 18.

The question is -- will it be Dawn of the Aspects 2.0 (a follow up of where the dragons fit in a mortal world, or will it be non-dragon like WoW: Wolfheart?

I have always considered the Age of Mortals and the end of the dragonflights as guardians to mean dragons will now experience a mortal life alongside other mortals. i.e. dragon playable race with a shapeshift button like the worgen.

So he's like Krillin?

Anyway... I guess maybe I can see some goodness from this, maybe Varian and Thrall can become the heroes of the modern age on par with Batman and Superman that kids grow up with? I don't know...

Judging from Blizzards recent post, that was the book announcment. Maybe they forgot one? Maybe? Right?

It's possible the next book is a prequel to the expansion and they don't want to inadvertently give away the expansion by announcing the book.

That's what I was thinking. Still, was expecting SOMETHING else. You know, they have a tribute book they just announced.

Didn't we already know they were making a children's book? I don't get the surprise.

I get the disappointment (not necessarily that I agree with it), but not the surprise.
