... Gilneas managed to fight the Forsaken to a stand-still, even despite the setbacks caused by the Forsaken PC.

The Alliance's three rules on faction conflict:
1) You can't win.
2) You can't break even.
3) You can't leave the game.

I feel it started to go downhill at the begining of BC, with the Blood Elves going Horde and the Ogres not being playable. It started to go downhill realllllllllllly fast when Cataclysm happened.

I'd like to play as a two headed ogre Shaman with bloodlust.

I preferred the lore between Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne-Wrath of the Lich King more importantly between TFT and Vanilla when the World was still a mystery, even though WoW at that time wasn't very story(Story plot) in grained like Wrath was but still.

Cracks were present towards the end of Wrath, in my opinion it wen't downhill during Cataclysm.

I preferred it when Blizzard wasn't trying to relive Warcraft 1 + 2.

I think part of it is due to the 10th and 20th anniversary. It's got Blizzard excited and reminiscing and thinking "wow, good times, we should totally do something like that again!".

Which is understandable. But I would have much preferred to have seen the Caverns of time used for this, in all honesty. They literally have a place where they can relive -any- part of the Warcraft lore and flesh it out further. I dislike the plot doubling back on itself when the reasons for it to do so isn't really isn't given much of a reason beyond one or two prime characters wanting something.

Then again, i'm a glutton for detail.

TBC, I would say, has some of the worst lore and plot developments in WoW. Only Cata is worse, IMO.

I preferred it when Blizzard wasn't claiming that they were trying to relive Warcraft 1 + 2, and as a result fans didn't think that the current issues of WoW had any relation to the feel of Warcraft 1 + 2.

(Except the 2-faction system, but that's been in WoW since the beginning.)

Oh yeah, I'd love this. The idea of a caverns of time that didn't consist of:
  • Two missions from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
  • One mission from Lord of the Clans
  • One mission before the events of the RTS games
  • One mission in the future at some apocalypse whatever

My pick for a Warcraft II mission would probably be the Grim Batol raid where the Azeroth strikeforce stole the unmanned orcish catapults, used them to storm the small base, and built a makeshift fleet to destroy the Horde's oil production on the lake. Of course, that's probably been noncanon since Day of the Dragon... if anything they'd probably go for the Blackrock Spire battle, and that'd be fine. I'll stop now; this sounds like a different thread topic.

They're not reliving it as much as redefining it. That's the problem I have with what they're doing.

I really do hope the Warcraft Movie sticks with the actual events of the First War and doesn't make Lothar and Durotan meet up for some brotacular moments on the battlefield.

. . . when Sylvanas stated the Forsaken would set their own course instead of aligning to the Horde later.

. . . when Khadgar, Medihv, Lothar and Garona were in the Last Guardian and almost nothing what become of them after that. Special mention for Medan as the worst character ever created by Blizzard.

. . . when Night Elves were cool and great like in W3 and not some whiney ally race in WoW.
