First snow fell today, covered everything.

Which normally I love but given that it is still not that cold outside all that snow will be melting soon and making that horrid, squishy, filthy goop that makes everything wet (and cars spray it on you). /sigh

Runes

It's cold now in Texas but not so cold that we get snow I hate all the things.

*grump*

At least we have Christmas music on the radio.

About 0 to 1 degrees Celsius here today.

Expecting 15-20 cm of snow over the next day.

Come to Western Washington! Not only do we have evergreen trees as far as the eye can see, we also have the only temperate rain forest and if you get tired of trees and want to get your cowboy on, just cross the Cascade Mountains and welcome to Eastern Washington!

Same here, but not today, tonight, midnight. Just checked the thermometer.

Which still means the snow will be melting come daylight. : /

I was thinking of some nice Potato Pancakes in the early morning for T-Day.

2 more people were just potentially added on last minute, so that makes 10 for a measly 18.5 pound turkey.. Worse, only 4 pies.

I picked up some more mashed taters, some red taters, and some gold taters so I can make some garlic fries, going with lots of corn bread, onion and corn sauteed in garlic, Vranberry sauce, lots and lots of deviled eggs, and 4 packs of flaky goodness.

It should be enough. Stuffing is what I'm worried about, since I should only have about 14-15 cups. That and sweet yams.

Stumbled upon this while browsing Facebook. Thought it was funny and vaguely related - Honestly, there's like 5 threads this link could fit under, but the Thanksgiving theme makes me want to post it here.

I am actually quite impressed! Most of their guesses are leagues better than that of many actual Americans, let alone if the tables were reversed and Americans were asked to label British (or even name the entirety of European countries) locations.

I saw that earlier today, and was pretty impressed. While I can find almost any country on a map, I'd have a hard time with states and provinces outside of the US, Canada, and Australia.

Damn straight, when it's winter I want it to be -10 Celsius or less all day every day!

Also remarkably enough the snow seems to be holding, but that is mostly because it keeps falling relentlessly and replenishing what melts. I might give you guys a picture.

So the snow I mentioned was forecasted for the next 24 hours?

Well, turns out it was 20cm overnight.

Oh and snow smells ... frosty, yeah. White, blue. Clean. Fragile.
Petrichor. Though I have heard people debate this, but the general consensus is petrichor.

Snow/Cold smells like chimneys to me. It's just an associated smell though.
