Their models are quite clearly stone and they are referenced as stone everywhere in-game in every quest. Their strength was being able to impart souls into new stone bodies after death. And it's shown time and time again how they use that.

They store the souls in stone and from the stone into new bodies.

Their skin could simply resemble stone.

It's clearly stated they are putting souls into stone bodies. Maybe they at one time had flesh for a bit but found a workaround thanks to a giant Titan facility they control.

I don't think the statement was universal. Some are flesh, some are stone (like the terracotta ones?).

I don't think the terracotta ones are "really" mogu. No more than a humanoid robot is "really" a person.

Every Mogu you fight is called something like 'stone brutes'. Not once are they ever said to be flesh.

Almost metallic skin is what I saw once, though I've only encountered Mogu outside instances in Kasarang Wilds+Kun Lai Summit and haven't done any Vale dailies if there's anything there.

Well, I was talking out my ass to some extent. I hate being wrong, but I risked it (for nothing). I try to look at stuff in the beta, but it really lags and crashes a lot. I'm not beta savvy.

The mogu view their dead as a collection of parts. Souls could be bound to stone for later use. Flesh and blood could be reforged to extend the lives of those loyal to the emperor. To be buried intact was a symbol of great power and respect.
Isn't this conclusive enough?

In what will probably be my last question while I'm still working for Blizzard- do we have any info on Pandaren or Mogu religion before and during the time of the pandaren revolution? Did the mogu allow the pandaren to worship freely, and if so, what did they worship? Just the elemental spirits? The august celestials? Both?

Nothing has been mentioned in game now. You better just ask Micky Neilson or Dave Kosak for a clear answer.

This is in the age of primordial spirits, and as such, I'm not sure if we can rule out Ursol and Ursoc. I can't say for certain. They may have worshipped those two before the Mogu got involved and then adopted whatever faith the mogu had.

While it's probably a bit late and a bit cheeky to ask, considering that it's been two and a half months since this thread opened, could we perhaps have the first question (what do you think could be improved and such) reopened? We've had a decent amount of extra lore, so that might have changed things, and unless Blizzard somehow decide to do so more formally, this might be the last chance to do so directly to Blizzard for quite a while.

Considering I'm no longer working at Blizzard I don't think it'd do much good.

Tell us stories, the ups and downs. The good and the bad. The shameful and fantastic.

Well there was that time I got mistaken for Samwise from the back.

It's because we both work on our glutes a lot.

Aargh, a few hours late!

... Blizzard needs to open an official bitch thread, just for that "This is what I'm finding really frustrating about the lore, I need to be sure it's going to be more than just a forum posts with a couple of replies!". Stupidly written threads get deleted.

I demand Blizzard add a Gnome /charge that says one of the following:

1) "For Kinndy!"
2) "Remember Kinndy!"
3) "This is for Kinndy!"
4) "Revenge for Kinndy!"

Omacron, you must return to California and ambush Metzen. Use your newly-gained knowledge to blackmail the company. Make it the happens, por favours.
