It seems to be doing really, really well based on what I've seen on the Web.

I'm [sincerely] delighted for Obsidian who, for some time now, have been my favourite Developer, for all their fault's.

And also GOG, from this email I got.

I'll look it up in the future in case this has suffered like KotOR II (unfinished) or Alpha Protocol (buggy as sin).

The blame for KOTOR II, in all fairness, lies with Lucasarts. Obsidian made the best out of a really shitty situation there.

Alpha Protocol was a shame because, had it had another few months polish (I'd say, 3 more Dev time & 3 more Polish/bug fixing) it would've been a GOTY candidate. Damn shame.

My first character is a Vailian mountain dwarf Goldpact paladin merchant.

I also want to make a chanter at some point.

I am just waiting to be able to afford it which might take awhile at this point. Cannot wait to grab this game i kind of want it to become a bigger deal than it is to draw in those numbers because these guys deserve it.

Yeah as much as I want to support Obsidian by paying full price, I just refuse to (and always have) buy anything on Steam outside of a major Sale.

(I learned the hard way with Dawn of War 2. )

I desperately want to play Hotline Miami 2 but the same thing applies; waiting for Sale.

Makes me sound so cheap this, I know. What ya gonna do. \_(ツ)_/

Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether

It's impressive how much it feels like a modernized infinity engine game, but I suppose that's what they wanted it to be. It's also impressive how similar they managed to make the rule system to DnD without it actually being DnD.

The only thing about the game that bothers me is that it seems that one has to sneak to find hidden things and traps.

I want to say I follow totalbiscuits example of not using metacritic due to several agreeable points he raised, but I know you'll still smack me around the head, and use the actual reason of Im broke atm.

I'm normally a Steam guy myself, but I do appreciate being able to play PoE without internet.

Relax, I'm the same here. A new universe you know nothing about is always confusing. It's not helped by the fact that the names of most locations/races/characters are hard as fuck to read and pronounce.

Other than that, I'm enjoying the game so far, although I'm still not sure what some of the stats and mechanics do.

I love the lore of this game because I realized: this isn't "medieval european fantasy". It's early Colonial American fantasy.

Because of that, this is going to be my next character, a paladin of LIBERTY.

You bet your sweet ass they do.

EDIT: Also, the War of Defiance, the setting's equivalent of the American revolutionary war did indeed begin because the Aedyr Empire (read: Britain) ordered the colonists in the Dyrwood (read: American) to pillage the ruins of the Glanfathans (read: Amerindians), which they refused to do.

It's not like D3's always-online or somesuch is it?

(Honestly not sure, no sarcasm intended.)
