Default Ludo Lullabi -- Submit questions

DC Comics provided me contact with Ludo Lullabi, the artist of the World of Warcraft comic book. Got any questions for him? About his background, or artistic style. Let me know.

I really like his drawing style so a short background wouldn't hurt, even tho i could prolly find the information witha few clicks thru Wikipedia, ah now i got a question!

Question: How did you start with your Warcraft related comics, did you look at Blizzard artists' drawings and such? How did it 1st start and was this your 1st fantasy world related project.

Do you have the ability/intent to introduce any unique design elements to the warcraft world, such as architecture or creatures, or is it strictly by the books?

Thanks, added both questions. I will keep checking before sending in my roster of questions.

By the way, just checked my email inbox. Vangie is gonna send me her answers. So expect the interview soon. =)

Note: Vangie as in the soprano of Lament of the Highborne.

I can also help to translate french to english, but the other way around is a bit more complicated as I haven't had french lessons in a few years. But I'd gladly help with any translation if you need it.

Are things such as the apparent night elf in a Second War flashback mistakes or just misinterpretations by readers?

lol, I had written that question yesterday, but I removed it as it would sound like a rant. And besides, he is the artist. Not the colorist.

I guess we should have to blame Randy Mayor - WoW Comic Colorist.

Skids taps Megatron's Autobot badge.

Skids: Right. There. What does that badge even mean to you? How has wearing it forced you to modify your behaviour? I'm serious! How has being an Autobot in any way prevented you from doing exactly what you want? Because if the answer is "it hasn't"—then nothing you've said or done in the last six months counts for anything.

You don't want to know.

At least I don't.

He'd know, though, I think. It doesn't hurt to ask. Wording could be a bit more courteous, but still.

How do you pronounce his last name? Is it "Lullaby" like the song, or "lool-ah-bee"?

I know elves age differently than humans, but in the first issue if the script says Lo'Gosh initially mistakes Valeer Sanguinar for a child, why did you draw her like Jenna Jameson?

Crossed Axes (War2)

Ok on a serious note now (for real)

What convinced you to become an artist?
If you could do art/comic for another franchise what would you pick?
Who´s ideas was to give Broll antlers?
Have you played any game of Warcraft?
Wich is your most memorable work?

Ludo has a level 70 character in World of Warcraft.
As for antlers, I assume after the battle of Mount Hyjal, losing their immortality, there was some kind of reform on the whole druid lifestyle. More a game mechanic reason, but women are now druids, and all druids can choose to train to be Druid of the claw and druid of the talon simultaneously.

I assume Broll was a Druid of the Talon, who also went through the druid of the claw rites at Moonglade.

Druid of the Talon have antlers. Also the Cenarius antlers grew on Malfurion as some kind of gift after he attuned to nature as a druid. It could be assumed druids who slept into the Emerald Dream may have grown antlers?

I sincerely hope none of you expect any major revelations from the artist. He probably doesn't even know what is going on other than what he's told to draw. Case in point the blue elves during the Second War.

Nobody asked anything really earth-shattering, I believe the questions posed all reflect a knowledge of Ludo's role. Plus he simply drew an elf, he is not the colorist who made it blue.

Why have you made a troll without an arm? If Metzen hinted that, explain if you're able to.

Are you involved with the script? Or you just draw?

How many fingers do you draw on taurens?
