![]() So I was traversing the Earth the other day, when I noticed something: You guys have a critical shortage of elves. So, in my infinite wisdom and generosity, I decided: Hey, I could fix that. Just make your selection here, and I'll go to the UN with it.
High Elves The Ur-elves from which all other elves are descended. Once a vast empire that ruled over entire continents, now an isolationist forest kingdom. Haughty, arrogant and proud, to the point they make even other elves uncomfortable. Come with free unicorns, treants, and giant butterflies. Wood Elves Typical forest-dwelling long-ears. Have a deep spiritual connection to the heart of the forest, leading to such things as druids and rangers. Come with free dryads, fairies and magical elks Moss Elves While all elves have an inherent connection with nature, none take this as far as the moss elves. Abandoning their bodies of flesh and bone, they have become one with the forests around them, appearing as animated piles of moss and leaves. In times of need, they can absorb more plant matter to grow into monstrous beasts. They are more morose than the typical elf. Sea Elves These gentle seafolk built a civilization beneath the waves, where they live in harmony with all of nature. They are friendly traders, well-known to the humans of the classical era, who adopted many as nature spirits or compatriots to their gods. Come with free nymphs, merfolk and scylla Coral Elves A colorful, aquatic race of elves that live in harmony with coral reefs, violently protecting them from outsiders. They themselves are able to breathe the air just fine, but the various symbiotic organisms that they share their bodies with aren't, so they tend to stay underwater for their entire lives. Come with free coralback whales, Coral turtles, coral crabs, coral dragons and giant seahorses. Deep Elves A race of aggressive aquatic elves living in the depths of Earth's oceans. Xenophobic isolationists, they defend any desecration of their homes with brutal war using tamed monstrosities. Come with free leviathans, liopleuridons, kraken, nightreaper colonies and dragonsharks. Mountain Elves These elves have interbred with a lesser species, giving them a shorter stature and a healthy color. Sturdy mountain rangers, ever-ready to defend their homes. Come with free wyverns, giants and cyclopses. Dark Elves Malicious underground elves worshiping some kind of arthropod goddess. Ruled by a matriarchy, and way too much into scheming. Their skin tends to be onyx-coloured, and their hair alabaster. Create monstrous creatures as a hobby. Come with free spider-elves, sentient shadows, and legions of lizardmen slaves. Fire Elves A race of desert elves that worship the heat and fire. Less isolationist than most elven species, these elves will not tolerate their home deserts being claimed by any other nation. Despite their martial bent, they are not innately aggressive towards humans, and have something of an appreciation for human arts and the human body. Come with free rocs, garudas, salamanders and djinn. Wild Elves Hailing from a mysterious continent, these elves have been forced to adapt to grueling survival situations. They are brutal, passionate warriors, who live for the thrill and exhilaration that the never-ending struggle for survival brings with it. Come with free dragons, hydras, dinosaurs and titans. Snow Elves Hailing from the northern wastelands, the blue-skinned snow elves have an innate connection to the cold and winter. Though cousins of the wood elves, the tough environment has led to them being much more savage and aggressive. They are well-known for riding polar bears and orcas. Come with free yetis, frost dragons and jormungandr. Rainbow Elves An ancient offshoot of the high elves, the Rainbow Elves have formed their own nation amid isolated mountain ranges. Living in their tiered pyramid cities, they are much more friendly and open than their haughty cousins, though the blood rituals they perform are known to turn off visitors. Come with free vision serpents, ahuizotls, chaneques, cipactli and quinametzins. Mist Elves Mysterious elves that live in hidden abodes in the deep jungle. They are skilled assassins, selling their services in return for a fortune in gems. They never speak to outsiders, and they always seem to be accompanied by thick mists. Come with free rainbow dragons and cobragators. Cloud Elves These exuberant elves make their homes among the clouds, spinning them into fantastic palaces and cities. Short-lived by the standards of elves, with few reaching two centuries of age. Cloud Elves have a strong natural predisposition towards the creation and appreciation of art. Come with cloudwurms, hippogryphs and rainbow dragons. Sky Elves A race of nomadic elves that live in magical skyships. They travel the globe looking for stories and adventures. They are pastoral, tending herds of flying beasts. Come with free cloud dragons, sky whales, griffins and pegasi. Moon Elves A race of crystalline, sorcerous elves that are only visible during full moons. Beautiful beyond compare and possessing powerful magic, they try to keep their existence hidden using subtle memory manipulation spells. Spring Elves The eternally youthful Spring Elves live alongside humanity. They spring forth from parks and playgrounds, living their century-long lives as carefree, playful and mischievous urchins. Come with free living teddy-bears and sentient snowmen. Swamp Elves Though long-dead, the bodies of the ancient swamp elves still move with silent, malicious purpose. These necromantic liches are feared and loathed by every other species of elf, and for good reason. Come with a whole lot of other undead. Space Elves The space elves are nomads that travel the galaxy on their magnificent space whales, looking to spread the seeds of the world forest wherever they go. Millenia of low-gravity and low light has given these elves gaunt, frail bodies and massive black eyes. They have come to the Earth to arboriform it, reshaping it into a world forest over the course of the next few millenia (Note: This process should be perfectly survivable for human civilization, though you're gonna need to change some city designs). Come with space whales, space cetaceans and space jellyfish. Divine Elves Empowered by long-forgotten divinities in an ancient conflict, Divine Elves can be divided into two categories. Infernal Elves live near hellmouths and are red-and-black-skinned with antlers. They are creatures of passion, and quite cordial towards humans, mingling freely. Celestial Elves live in blessed meadows and have pearly white skin, and feathers instead of hair. They are creatures of control and restraint, taking up mentorship rules on those rare occasions they interact with humans. Come with free angels and demons. |

![]() You would have a lot more space for other options if you'd just remove all the elves.
