I'll check it out, if it's free. The MMO sphere has been so stagnant lately and SOE is pretty much the only MMO company out there with any pedigree, but while the stuff they release early looks great I'm not sure what will happen in execution. Remember how Warhammer Online's public quests were gonna revolutionize the world of MMO gaming?

The videos reminded me, WOW really needs to have better jungles. Despite the beauty of some places, like Sholazar, the feeling is simply not right, unlike GW 2 jungles.

A day-night cycle would also be great. It doesn't have to be as long as a real day, after all.

Believe they already said it won't be sub based.

The part I find interesting is Landmark, which feels like SOE outsourcing a bunch of their asset and world development to the community with zero payback.

I'm sure there are a ton of EQ/Minecraft/TF2 haberdashers that would leap at the chance, but something about it strikes a bad chord with me. I'm all for player-authored/curated content, this just feels like a cost-saving measure.

I think it's a really smart thing to do. Steam/Valve has proved that player-sourced material is a viable and profitable model with Steam Workshop for games like Skyrim, TF2, Left 4 Dead and Portal. So it's a way for the company to get quality work done without paying employees? SO THE FUCK WHAT? If it's good, it's good. This is the future of the industry as far as I'm concerned. The fact of the matter is, a large-scale MMO takes huge amounts of resources to run smoothly. The logistics/nuts and bolts are a huge concern, so if a company outsources the lore work to their fans, everyone wins.

I'm surprised, a new MMO that I actually care to learn more about.

Yeah, on more consideration this isn't really a bad thing.

I might be jaded because I worked for a studio that essentially got cannibalized by SOE. But all things considered this could be a pretty awesome set-up.

I mean, I'd prefer a model where creators who's content gets folded into the actual game get some kind of compensation for it, but I admit that might be asking too much.

I played Lords of Everquest. It was fun.

It's almost hard to believe they finally bothered to released info about it now. It looks promising, but I won't get my hopes up.

Would love to see footage of Akanon or the Steamfont Mountains, though.

I wonder whether it was knowledge of this game that made Blizzard scrap Titan and start from scratch.

About fucking time some MMO brought an editor with it. Even if the game sucks and is goddamned awful terrible, if the editor is any good it will have a decent playerbase for a long time.

This game blows my freaking mind.. This game is going to trash and i mean trash other MMO's and if it is as successful as i think it will be Titan will be close to it for sure.

These guys give us details on the game well



NPC's can literally form new factions and migrate. I mean come on that on its own is insane to me and the Landmark could be insane on its own as they are wanting everyone to play it essentially generating more hype.

If the combat is on the level of Guild Wars 2 then i am sold completely .

A lot of it will be stuff that will be hard to say how great it'll be till we actually see it. Plenty of game companies know how to use PR speak to make things in their game seem like the most amazing stuff in the world.

Pretty much this. If they deliver on even most of what they promise I'll be both awed and impressed.

Then again, this is why I'm keeping my expectations low, so I'll be pleasantly surprised.
