Default Random strange skeletons

Do you love or hate when Blizzard does shit like this?

I used to really enjoy discovering things like this. But unfortunately after years of there being no explanation and well, out right statements by Metzen that "I have no idea what it is but its really awesome! Sometimes really awesome stuff shows up ingame and we scramble to explain what it is. Welcome to developing video games. We put the WHAT in WHAT."

I still want to know why theres two absolutely massive Goliath Naga skeletons in the world. But I've come to accept that they are just there because Blizzard's often sloppy.

The above screen shot was something I just stumbled across in the Rise of Ruin, I'm sure many of you have seen it as well. It's, what appears to be, two ancient Drakonid skeletons with full size dragon heads, likely red flight based upon the roses growing around them.

Obviously it's just another case of the world team getting bored and leaving us an easter-egg with no point. Which in upon itself seems pointless if it's just there for no reason.

Make the head smaller, and bam, there is the basis for the explanation of a dragon PC race.

The way i see it, its most probably a reference to someone.

You see, WoW is filled with references to people irl. Say you are a guy who worked hard on creating this game, but you are'nt known enough to have your own Spirit Healer, or dont have the right connections to have their own NPC

So what else do you have to leave a mark in the game? Stuff like this. personal jokes that only the person knows or understand, and only him/her can explain, and knows its his and no one else :3

In all seriousness, I immediately thought they were baby raptor skeletons.

Perhaps early, failed Saurok skeletons?

WTF is the Rise of Ruin?

The Alliance's three rules on faction conflict:
1) You can't win.
2) You can't break even.
3) You can't leave the game.

I actually like these elements. Sometimes it's interesting to have these insignificant mysteries that can never really be explained.

I like these elements because it shows the world designers were finding ways to shove little unique elements into corners of the world. I dislike when larger elements that clearly had a purpose at one time end up going unused completely.

As an example, there is a lot of square footage used for Seradane in the Hinterlands, but aside from potentially hosting one of the Dragons of Nightmare fights pre-Cata, nothing happens there.
