No. Slowpoke was just the first to notice it was back, if you appreciate the irony in that statement...

I prefer Fojar's "Slowpoke was all alone in SoL" headcanon.

Obama on the red phone, duh.

That or they cleared it beforehand after a similar incident.

I think even if Russian planes cut Turkish airspace here and there it was no cause for such action especially given they are fighting terrorists the Turks themselves are far too lenient towards. I guess if they went deep into Turkish territory I'd get it but honestly I trust Russia more than Turkey.

Russia has been pushing their boundaries to see what they can get away with and someone finally pushed back. They are seeing how effective NATO really is.

Honestly, I like neither the Turks nor the Russians, but now is not the time to compare their goddam dicks like that. I mean, the Turks are deluding themselves if they think they'll be able to break the Kurds in Syria, and the Russians to the same if they think that they'll be able to save Bashar in the long run.

I think Lebanon deserves recognition(and assistance) with the fact that they are housing over 1 million Syrian refuges when they are only a country of 4 million people. I wouldn't mind foreign aid going to a country for this purpose. I also wouldn't mind helping build more camps/infrastructure just like the west does during humanitarian crises during natural disasters.

I don't trust either.

On the one hand, you have Turkey (lol), on the other hand, you have the corrupt petrol-state that is Russia (lol).

Erdogan's pretty awful. A friend of mine who's lived in Turkey for about six years was telling me that Erdogan's trying to become a dynast. However, his sons are blithering idiots, so he probably won't succeed in creating a dynasty.

Putin is the world's Scott Farkus, and Turkey just pulled a Ralphie...

I should totally do the holiday roulette again...

Why is it that Russian partisans don't seem to understand that there are countries besides Russia and the USA that have agency

As I've said before I have great sympathy for the people of Russia, they deserve some good governance and nice living after all the shit they suffered since... forever. I don't think Putin is that leader but I've also strongly come to think that any possible replacement would be much worse (for the people or Russia). He may not be the ideal leader but he is quite good and so I vastly prefer him to Erdogan, who supports islamists in addition to being a strongman like Putin.

Shades of gray and all that.

Right now, I doubt that it's going to escalate much. Putin was pushing the limits, but he's not aggressive enough to want a three-front conflict.

Some sources say Putin's fighting ISIS, others that he's fighting the Syrian rebels (what's left of them). Maybe he's doing some of both. The main goal seems to be to prop up Assad.

Perhaps the Kremlins "Buzz everyone's borders repeatedly in an effort to intimidate them" policy was not well thought out
