I really wonder if the need for landmasses to be rectangular was the only technical limitation they had. Sure, looking on how the geography progressed, it'd make sense, but still.

This question might sound strange, but did anybody also saw that in the Chronicles Eastern Kingdom Maps, Quel'thalas has a slightly different shape than in the ingame map? (with the Eastern Part being slightly bigger?)

Note: This apparent change has already been done in Chronicles I.

Indeed! Lorewise, there has always been a small bump east of Quel'Thalas to make space for the Amani Empire. Now, we know what it looks like in canon.

Don't want to be rude but canon lore is a joke. I could argue about this but I'll make a separate thread. Also the canon maps are extremely underscaled and inaccurate.
