The research in Arthas: Rise of the Lich King will cover this area. I will cover any year in between, writing as much information as possible. Hopefully, this information can then be used when compared to other novels. I will give each novel and/or RPG a similar treatment.
Instead of using the notation for the Dark Portal, I will be using Arthas' age as a reference.

In the winter, Arthas helps birth a horse which he would name Invincible. Refugees from the First War arrive in Lordaeron and Arthas and Varian meet for the first time. It's a few months before spring.

It looks like the Dark Portal is going to be reopened.

Jaina travels to Dalaran through Lordaeron and meets Arthas in court. She stays in Lordaeron for a week, after which Arthas escorts her to Dalaran. Together, they sneak out of camp to spy on the orc encampment.

Arthas ends his training with Muradin and continues his training with Uther, roughly at the end of autumn.
In the winter, Arthas rides Invincible into it's death, a few months before his birthday.

In the summer, Kael'thas returns to Dalaran. Jaina Proudmoore and Arthas Menethil get an affair. A few months after, Kael'thas discovers the affair and rages at the two.
In the winter, more complaints arise about the costs of the internment camps.

By the beginning of spring, the courtship between Arthas and Jaina has been permitted by their parents.
In spring, Jaina visits Arthas to assist him in the public celebration of Noblegarden.
In summer, Arthas visits Jaina in Dalaran.
At the end of Autumn, the Jaina assists in the public celebration of Hallow's End.
In the winter, Arthas and Jaina break up.

However, I recently discovered the 'In the Shadow of the Sun' was released more recently than Arthas. So, instead, I will focus on this short story before getting back to Arthas.
