I think Sarah's just bored and trolling. She's fairly good at that.

Its not trolling, its arguing against yourself to arrive at new conclusions. Its like the dialectic. My original thesis was that I thought Putress was a bad person, so I make an antithesis that there might be more to him than that and then I arrive at this new synthesis in that I think he's a complicated guy. That's the kind of mental gymnastics that I think is more fun than trolling on here (which FYI I think is a word that is waaaaay overused and misattributed online).

But he's not complicated. He's a one dimensional villain and there's no evidence for anything else.

I don't think we should shout down unpopular opinions less we become an echo chamber. We want a forum that provides constructive feedback to ideas and not one that reaffirms the ones we already have. Even playing the Devil's Advocate should be encouraged.

I think Putress creating the cure does create a mitigating circumstance for Thrall so there is that. Even villainous characters need a perspective or motivation that is understandable even if it isn't agreeable. It makes them seem more realistic.

I just don't think we should try and patch up Blizzad's shoddy writing.

Putress was a one dimensional villain and it would be great if he weren't but it's pretty dang obvious he only cured the plague to reduce the Scourge's forces and as part of his cover and we shouldn't try and fool ourselves into thinking Blizzard did a good job or provided us with a complex character when they flat out didn't.

Sarah is the person who made a thread about how good it was to destroy Saddam Hussein, with a WC2 Oil icon to top it.

People STILL didn't see the trolling.

She's a master troll.

Well, in a most basic comparison (of who ended up the deadliest), I don't think Hitler would win.

Really? Because I think even Saddam Hussein is more heroic than a demon-aligned plague-spreading corpse.

Saddam Hussein was a real world monster. Calling him any kind of hero is an insult to all heroes and the rest of humanity.

Heroism lies in the eyes of the beholder. I bet Saddam thought himself quite the hero.

Unfortunately for him I don't care what he thinks. Other people believing they are justified in their own actions doesn't preclude me from asserting myself over them.

In regards to Kir's remarks, I'll just quote myself from the beginning of the thread:

Fortunately for you, he doesn't think very much at all nowadays. But if he would, I am sure he wouldn't care what you thought either.
