Default World of Hordecraft

I know WoW having a Horde bias has been pointed out, but I wonder how far they could have taken it bank in Vanilla. Well here's a scenario:

Back in the Third War, the Scourge and their demon masters march down south in the Eastern Kingdoms. Gilneas and Stromgarde are crushed, Alterac is blighted, and only 3 kingdoms (Stormwind, Ironforge, and Kul'Tiras) are holding out. Through a series of dramatic events (Ragnaros warring on the invaders, the Black Dragonflight taking to the field, the Undead Civil War, and the kingdoms' battle strategies along with their geography) the 3 kingdoms are still around as of Vanilla. The Scourge focuses on rebuilding from the chaos of Illidan's attempt on the Lich King and securing their territory.

Over at Kalimdor, Theramore is in a pickle. Daelin Proudmoore's invasion has awakened old resentments in both Alliance and Horde. Daelin's demise with the defeat of his fleet has soured the old countries against Theramore, which have made sure to cut any ties they might have had. Seeing the Horde's currently greater power while also seeking unity, Jaina offers to swear fealty to Thrall as her Warchief. While he has subordinates who express doubt or suspicion at this, Thrall accepts. The Night Elves as a faction are too old and proud to submit, but their leadership allows individual NEs to do so. Contact is made with the Forsaken (who in this world are portrayed as less "KILL ALL HUMANS" and more "We're trying to build our lives back together while fending off those who would enslaved us" ) with Sylvanas agreeing to aid the new Horde.

All Vanilla races start in Orgrimmar with Thrall as their leader. To go with the focus on Kalimdor and be more consistent with what WC3 pointed to as the status of the EKs post-TFT, the Eastern Kingdoms are largely enemy territory (the Scourge, Legion remnants carving up fiefs for themselves, other groups such as Ragnaros' crew). The last 3 kingdoms are NPC lands that are portrayed as suffering the turmoil of a zombie apocalypse. They have rejected Theramore.

I don't really see any way to portray "positive Forsaken" without clashing with the Alliance, aside from them also sailing to Kalimdor and settling near orcs. That's not a bad idea, actually: you get to make an interesting brand of Desert Undead.

Or they can move to plagued Quel'Thalas. Or, if we're keeping the "Scourge-controlled EK" theme, have Ner'zhul re-assimilate a big bunch undead back into fold after taking over Arthas (thus negating the effects of Illidan's anti-FrozenThrone spell), and have Sylvanas only escape his wrath with few loyal units of her own.

I like the "Theramore joins the Horde" idea, because I had it for some time too, and I think it could have worked in a post-Proudmoore world. Jaina really should have faced more ire from other nations for betraying her father - at first I imagined there being NO free nations after the Burning Legion onslaught, but WoW brought the elephant back into the china shop.

Why should Azeroth/Stormwind, Ironforge, and Kul Tiras be survivors? Have them lost. Make Theramore the last bastion for these races, like Durotar for the Horde races.

No, it kind of works from the perspective of "Starting Factionless Kalimdor". Have EK as an expansion with NPC Alliance kingdoms as the main quest-givers.

Also, Stormwind didn't have noted or maybe implied refugees among Jaina's expedition in RoC's Orc Campaign.

You could make non-forsaken undead. No reason to assume that every free-willed undead ended up aligned with Sylvanas, after all.

The first post didn't make it apparent that Sylvanas isn't all Kill All Humans here?

So here's some more:

The Eredar are not linked to the Draenei in any way. Th Eredar were worshipers of the Titans going all White Man's Burden on the universe with Velen and Co. protesting this. Sargeras comes over and knocks them around with Velen and Co. avoiding being imprisoned. Sargeras rejects the other Titans and frees the imprisoned Eredar while Velen and Co. are led off by a Titan or one of their Watchers. No Naaru or Light worship here.

The post-TFT Lich King has Ner'zhul's personality and weakened psychic powers with Arthas' everything else.

Varian and Anduin are still around as Stormwind royality, but that Lo'Gosh junk never happened. Varian cuts a deal with the Black Dragonflight for protection.

Kael'thas declares a new elven Kirin Tor to replace the dead one.

Alright, here's some aims for this:

1. Little to no full scale war-The lands of the East are either on their guard or rebuilding. The New Horde is securing itself. Few to none of the factions are aiming at full scale war. This way, the adventurer focus of WoW fits better.

2. More splitting-The Alliance is finally dead, with the remnants of the Eastern Kingdoms split in two. The undead armies have been split between the Scourge, the Burning Legion remnants, and freed undead like Sylvanas.

Now here's an order I'm thinking of:

Kalimdor and Western Lordaeron (Vanilla)>The Last 3 Kingdoms (Varian Shows Up)>Outland (See what Kael and Vash are up to)>South Seas>Pandaria (Looking for allies)>Pending
