The Witcher III will be just as poorly optimized as the first two games in the name of putting as little effort as possible in graphical optimization and getting dat sweet Nvidia partnership money.

How do you 'dumb down' graphics?

By making representational graphics for the plebs. Clearly, gamers of taste and sophistication prefer abstraction (I, for one, find that only abstract expressionist graphics can truly bring out the inherent energy of a military FPS).

From what I hear they downgraded PC graphics to be in line with the XB1 and PS4

Could these games have an edgier looking protagonist?

Isn't he generic white guy #561?

To be fair, he isn't bald.

Ah, let's take it here then.

It's obvious why it's popular. Boobs and awful caricatures of women that throw themselves at Geralt everywhere, pretty much every guy is a wart-covered asshole you'll feel good about killing.

Basically, the entire Witcher franchise feels like the life of the average Game of Thrones extra, all the stuff you don't see on the show, because it's repetitive and boring.

I think it's a hopelessly overrated universe and game.

I wasnt overly fond of the previous two games in the franchise, and still have to read the novels, but this game does seem to be worth a try. It's too bad that my potato of a PC will likely run it on lowest settings. The only good thing about my PC is the Gtx 960, otherwise, my CPU is below requirements(but that generally doesnt matter much. Dying Light and Far Cry 4 were both above my CPU, but I ran them on Medium settings with 50 fps), and I need to upgrade my ram to 8gb.

I just wish that this game isn't buggy like all the open world games that came out this year or the last. CD Projekt Red may be pro-PC, but their previous games were buggy as hell on launch.

If it had more freedom in character development, purely in terms of abilities and weapons, I'd probably go for it, as the more open world-ish setting appeals to me. But seeing as one is still locked into the same two swords and signs as always, as well as the iffy as hell potion mechanic, no thanks. It was a bad design in the first part and I don't know why they've stuck to it the entire time.

Let me play an archer Geralt, or a mage Geralt, or a free hybridization of styles, I mean come on. These games try to sell themselves as RPGs but they're really just Assassin's Creed with boobies.

The third one has archery.. and the potion and oil system is one of the few things I love

Depending on how you played through Witcher 2, of course.
