Default Do my job for me: Warcraft Edition UPDATED 8/17

So, as you all know, I'm headed to Blizzard Entertainment as their Publishing Assistant Intern, and part of that job includes being one of their loremasters. Thing is? I'm lazy. I'm lazy and you guys will bring up the most inane bits of lore possible. So I figured, hell, why not crowdsource it to SoL?

This thread, and others like it in the Starcraft and Diablo sections, is a bit like the Novice Sanctuary except I'm the only person asking questions here. I will be using my admin powers to moderate this thread and remove all off-topic posting because this thread is solely to answer questions or theorycraft on relevant topics. I may even lock the thread if I don't have any questions for the foreseeable future. I'll also be updating the first post in the thread with my current question.

CURRENT QUESTIONS:

This is a great thing for the Scrolls of Lore. Omacron, I hope you greatly contribute to the lore at Blizzard.

So what is it, exactly, were supposed to post here? Questions or items that need clarification regarding the lore? And then you pass along these standing controversies?

No, I'M the one asking questions, you're just here to answer them. I don't start work until Tuesday so I wont have any questions until then.

Like, here's a theoretical scenario. My boss swings by my cubicle and says "Hey Max, does Stormwind's military have any constables?" and I can't figure out an answer myself, I may turn to you guys to see if anyone can come up with any examples. Or even worse, perhaps he asks a question which doesn't have an answer, like "Hey Max, what was the original race that the Zerg later turned into changelings?" and then I'd raise the question here, like "Would a changeling just be considered part of the overseer's biology and therefore be derived from the same species, or maybe they were created from a parasitic or symbiotic species, or something else?" and we'd bandy the idea back and forth until something suitable comes up.

As thrilled as I'd be in knowing that SoL would have a hand in shaping lore across Blizzards genres, are you sure you are allowed to do this?

The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.

No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.

As far as I've been told, I'm not allowed to discuss anything Blizzard is working on. That said, clarifying existing lore, as if I were just another fan, should be entirely kosher. If they tell me not to do this, then I'll delete these threads lickety split.

If theyre asking for clarification, one might assume its because they are going to leverage that information in some way. Could be unneeded trouble on your end.

So you aren't sure about all the pieces in the 3 universes of Blizzard. So you need this forum's help to clear about many stuff.

I think it got the danger to spoil things, you better ask them and make sure to avoid problem.

I love the fact absolutely no one is surprised you would do this.

But hey, if they'll let you and it means our borderline obsessive (combined) knowledge of the setting and stories will serve a purpose beyond our typical bickering, then fine.

Interesting idea.

However, if at any moment you feel a specific question could potentially reveal future stuff, consider using an alternative account.

Un saludo.

THIS IS EPIC.

I'll get my pile of source materials...

And then put some back... with a tear.

I demand the Omacron print out a stack of ARM posts and drop them on the desks of all those cool CDev people.

If I'm Omacron's manager, I promote him on the spot for having the good sense to do something like this.

Working smarter is always better than working harder. His boss is getting more for his money by having a guy who exploits a resource like this, and enjoys the added benefit of appeasing the fans of the franchise by letting them have some input into efforts like this.

Corporate managers want results. They don't care how you get them, as long as you're not breaking the law.

Post made by ARM(numbers), the guy who posts the best(imo) posts around here.

For Omacron, what I'd do would be to check how much of the non-canon rpg books that could possibly be canon one day.
